Diane Abbott on Newsnight

I've just seen Diane Abbott on Newsnight - she seems to have been off the political radar, or mine at least, for a while.

She was looking and sounding very bright and perky, and has certainly lost weight - almost back to her old self. A couple of years ago she was looking distracted, rambling and bloated and was probably unwell.

Anyway, I thought she was on good form and pointed out that The Met's latest action is benefiting no-one but Boris Johnson.

I like Diane Abbott, find her to be sincere and committed to her constituents.

She did go through a very bad phase when her diabetes was way out of control - and it showed. She also had an awful family problem.

I didn't see Newsnight when she was on it but am glad she seems back on form. Long may it continue.

Maybe we'll see more of her - not sure if she's a pal of Starmer's though!
