valentines and kids

My ds10 has had a huge crush on a girl in his year for a couple of months - like hiding if we drive past her then sitting up with a huge grin, and a big smile if I say her name. Anyway, he wants to send an anonymous valentines card. I am not sure it is a good idea, in case it gets out. Also because they are so young, and I don't like the idea of only some girls getting valentines cards at that age. But I don't want to rain on his parade either! It seems so cute and genuine. He says he is too young to go out with someone so that isn't on his mind and he says no one at school is talking about valentines, last year no one sent one or got one. WWYD? How would you feel if you were the mother of the girl?

My child (girl) 8 had just bought a valentine's card today for a child in her class!
I totally wasn't expecting it
No idea if anyone else is doing it there
She's put in there I am your girlfriend because you're so cute I can't resist your face!
