I'm off for a day trip to Edinburgh in March with a friend for shopping and a few drinks. Would like to find somewhere for lunch with a bit of atmosphere, nice food, not Michelin star but not chain resturant. any ideas / recommendations would be appreciated please.

The Ivy is a chain. A disappointing one too.

Dishoom is a chain too. But a good one.

Greyfriars Bobby. The building is really old, staff are friendly and food is amazing. The Witchery is brilliant too.

It's never reopened since lockdown.

Guildford Arms near Princes Street, they have a restaurant upstairs.
Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith (bus ride away).

Oh such a shame! Hope it will in the future.
