Book to help learn to make friends for Age 11

DD (11) has been within the same circle of friends since pre school.

We live quite rurally and the school is small.

She has done clubs/activities but not really anything that has meant she has had to meet new children. All very small groups with targeted activity.

She goes to secondary school this year and I am worried that she needs to learn some skills to interact with other children.

She had a taster day at a new school and came away not knowing anyones names and having a really rubbish day.

If I can pre empt some upset by trying to help her learn to introduce herself to new people and get to know them with some little questions.

Can anyone recommend an age appropriate book that we can read together.

She is generally a confident child she just lacks the skills as she has never really needed them.

I just told mine to go and sit with people who they had seen in class etc and just say 'Hi I'm coming to sit with you' and to just start chatting normally and under no circumstances to say 'can I sit with you' or 'do you mind if I sit with you' etc as that opens up the opportunity for a negative response from anyone in that group.

Anyway it worked esp for DS who's new best friend moved not long after he started so had to start from scratch

Or not even say anything just sit with them say hi and join in the conversation like it's the most normal thing to do
