Give me something good to watch...

...Before I go back and rewatch 250 episodes of the US Office.

Husband and I like to watch something while we eat our dinner/veg out on the sofa during the week. But we have run out of stuff and are in danger of going back to the US Office which we have seen roughly a billion times.

Looking for something good quality, probably lighthearted (although will go for something serious if it's good), funny if it's appropriate and preferably where there are quite a few episodes so it lasts a while. 30mins preferable but longer considered. Looking at lists and stuff I just feel like we have watched everything that exists.

Things we have liked in the past: The Office (both versions), This Country, Parks and Rec, Modern Family, Life in Pieces, Dave, The Other One, Motherland, Mare of East Town, Six Feet Under, Friends, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Community, Superstore, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Everybody Hates Chirs, 30 Rock, It's a Sin, Queer as Folk, Cucumber, Cold Feet, Scrubs, The Middle, My Name is Earl, Desperate Housewives, Jane the Virgin, Master of None...

All suggestions are gratefully received.

Inside Job on Netflix

A bit like futurama bit based on the idea that every conspiracy theory is literally true

It’s the funniest thing I’ve watched this year

mrstea301 · 27/01/2022 11:59

We've started watching Seinfeld and quite enjoying it!

I've also been recommended Bojack Horseman but haven't watched any of it yet!

amusedbush · 27/01/2022 12:00

Going by your list: Schitt's Creek, Emily in Paris, Brooklyn 99, Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, Sex and the City, Afterlife

Classica · 27/01/2022 12:01

I don't see New Girl on your list. It's hilarious and sounds like the kind of thing you'd like.

Bojack is absolutely amazing, seriously one of the best animated shows out there. It's darkly funny but bitter and depressing at times.

If you're on the market for a more juvenile and lighthearted animated show, Big Mouth is gross and hilarious. It brings out the 14 year old boy in everyone Grin

Emily in Paris. We'll written and very funny. Nice easy watching .

Another vote for Seinfeld.
Each episode is about 25 mins. Lighthearted comedy, great characters, 9 seasons with about 22 episodes per season (so lots!)
Easy watching.

Laffielle · 27/01/2022 12:27

Schitts Creek most definitely

Marikali · 27/01/2022 12:30

Marikali · 27/01/2022 12:31

All the Harlan Coben series on Netflix are gripping viewing, though you'll want the non-subtitled (English language) ones only while you eat!

Taskmaster is excellent to watch while you eat and you can dip in and out.

Clifford the Big Red Dog - funny and good movie.

Classica · 27/01/2022 12:35

All the Golden Girls episodes are on Disney Plus. Makes me laugh out loud, and that's rare for me with a sitcom.

Schitts Creek most definitely
Yep, agree. It's really hard to get in to at first and takes ages to grow on you but when it eventually does, it's magnificent! It's simply the best.....😉

Motherland !
Ghosts
Disenchantment
Lower Decks - Star Trek comedy spin off but very funny.
