One piece swimsuit for a larger lady, where? Help

FoamBurst · 26/01/2022 21:20

Need a swimsuit for next month.
I'm a size 16 large bust, big mummy tummy. Untoned.
I want a swimsuit. With the tummy control. I'm not a floral person so anything plain is perfect. Preferably black.

Bonus points in any matching shorts to go over the top as paranoid about stretch marks at top of legs /towards bikini line.

Preferred under £30 Mark not much more as this will only get used for a few times then left in back of the drawer no doubt.

Thank you.

Sports direct they usually have a good range and usually have board shorts too

Plump82 · 26/01/2022 21:28

I got a really nice one from asda. I felt really confident in it and it was pretty flattering.

They don't have your size but id keep an eye for it coming in stock as they have them all year round.

madisonbridges · 26/01/2022 21:33

I bought two a couple of years ago, exactly as you describe. A bright pink and a dark blue from Marks. Don't know if they still do them. Had tummy control. But lots of places do them. I think I even got one from Asda. Its a bit early for all the new designs to be in yet though.

madisonbridges · 26/01/2022 21:33

Haha @Plump82, great minds. Cross posted.

I’m bigger than you and have always found this range from Next to be great www4.next.co.uk/style/st450791/193480#193480

Decathlon have some nice ones - a friend who is larger than you got one there and it looks good.

Hairyfriend · 26/01/2022 21:42

I'm the same size as yourself and have this set. Its actually a tankini with separate briefs or high waist bottoms, but looks like a one piece when on. Being separate though, its SO much easier when you need the loo! I'm a GG and never go bra less, but this is actually very supportive and the rouching across the tummy is very flattering.

I'm a self conscious 16 with big boobs, have 2 gorgeous swimsuits from figleaves.

This one and a purple one slightly different style. Love them

UnicornsReal · 26/01/2022 22:03

I just bought the Fantasie Versailles in black. Delighted with it. It comes in bra sizes.

dylanthedragon · 26/01/2022 22:16

If you can stretch you're budget a bit, I'd recommend a tankini from bravissimo. I'm a similar size and shape and having a properly sized bra makes a huge difference to how I feel and look in swinwear. And with a tankini, you can just buy shorts rathet than having then over the top. I done buy the bottoms from bravissimo. I just get plain black bikini short from a sports shop or m&s for control ones.

tootsierubs · 26/01/2022 22:39

Another vote for Next. I looked everywhere and tried on everything but found a swimsuit and a tankini in Next that fits perfectly.

UnicornsReal · 26/01/2022 22:50

Sorry just saw your budget

clpsmum · 26/01/2022 22:52

Try Landsend but only ones in the sale.
I'm a size 12 so not sure how these swimsuits are for larger sizes but the fit and quality is amazing. I bet they are good for larger sizes. They do a lot of long fit. I usually pay £15-£20ish for their swimsuits. I never pay full price.

takingmytimeonmyride · 26/01/2022 23:32

I'm a size 16 with a mum tum and got a shorty swimsuit from decathlon. It's doesn't have tummy control, because that doesn't particularly bother me, but I like it as it covers my bum and tops of legs more than a normal swimming costume.

LoveFall · 27/01/2022 00:09

I have been very happy with swimsuits from Lands End. They come in a good size range and even have them for long bodies etc.

Ozanj · 27/01/2022 00:16

With your figure and size a longer line bikini (with adequate support) with high waisted shaping bottoms will look better than a one piece. Amazon sell loads of these including ones with fluttery sleeves / hems.

FoamBurst · 27/01/2022 10:28

Thank you. Like the marks and next ones. Both out of stock. But will keep trying and do a stock check for instore a bit further afield next week when I have time to go there. Thank you
