Costumes beginning with an A

So my hen do is in a few months time and I asked everyone to dress up in something beginning with an A.

All are up for it but I really want to be unique and different? Can anyone think of something?

Even if it's from a book, film, a place, a pet. Anything.

But something people would recognise too.

I've looked on the internet but feel a little meh at most of them

@YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie

God I’d HATE to be asked to do this. Really. Cringe and a huge waste of money. But Alice I guess is the obvious one.
Me too. Let them wear whatever they want ffs.
HollowTalk · 26/01/2022 22:30

This is like something thought up by a young teacher at primary school who doesn't have her own kids which pisses off every parent.

Archipelago is what came to mind.
Of an archaeological dig

@narcdad about 10 years ago I went to a 'p' party (as Poundland) and a few months after that went to an 'm' party (as a mess). Long before tictok. Fancy dress parties with a letter theme are not new.

spotcheck · 26/01/2022 22:34

@minipie

Surely you think of your own fab costume idea before setting the theme??
Perhaps OP's name starts with A

I think I would wear what I felt comfortable in and then make up a name beginning with A to suit. TBH I wouldn't like to be easily identified as part of a hen party anyway.

OopsadayZ · 26/01/2022 22:38

@Intheopinionofourexpert

You aren't really thinking of going as Amy Winehouse surely Confused Someone who died fairly recently, at a tragically young age, and whose life spiralled out if control in the public eye. That'd be really tasteless.
I am a massive AW fan and was upset at her death.

However you're being daft. It was 10 years ago! How on Earth is that recent?!

NerrSnerr · 26/01/2022 22:40

I'd possibly go as one of the A Team or an alien.

If my husband was going he'd go as an Asda or Aldi shopper so he could wear his normal clothes and take a carrier bag!

BadlydoneHelen · 26/01/2022 22:41

Please wear a green dress with a cushion stuffed up the front and go as an avocado

Hollow I'm neither a school teacher or childless.

The people I asked are my family and when I showed them the tiktok video they thought it was so funny and when I said I think I may do the same idea they were so excited thinking up loads of costumes.

If my family and close friends couldn't tell me that it wasn't their idea of fun they wouldn't sit there and feign interest. They are close enough to me to tell me if they felt uncomfortable or not happy to wear a costume.

Just because a few of you hate this idea or feel 'cringey' about it doesn't mean everyone has to feel the same way.

I find the idea fun and so do my family and friends coming to my hen do.

So if you see a bunch of girls wearing costumes beginning with A make sure you come say hello.
We'll tell you how much fun it's been Smile

Obviously the answer is an aubergine.

Google aubergine 🍆 costume - it's a great look for a hen night!

@waltzingparrot

Athena: Goddess of war/wisdom. Gold dress and headress.
This reminded me of when Dolly on Emmerdale went to a fancy dress party as Aphrodite and nobody knew who she was supposed to be Grin

Seen Arrietty Clock from The Borrowers done a few times, that's a good one.

Awfully annoying friend - then you can just go as you are - I'm sure your hens will get the joke.

JellyTots2009 · 27/01/2022 02:04

No mummy because my family and friends aren't as nasty as you.
You don't know me whatsoever, what made you be so rude?

They're just bores. Ignore. Doubt they ever get invited anywhere.
