annoying in bed

what does your partner do in bed that annoys the hell out of you? I don't mean sex but their annoying habits.
mine has this irritating habit of rubbing his feet up and down the sheets. does not sound that bad but we have cotton sheets and they make a terrible noise when he starts rubbing his feet!

Mine wriggles when he gets into bed and somehow manages to take the duvet with him so i have to yank it back over my side

KitBumbleB · 26/01/2022 15:40

Wraps himself up like a human burrito then put his legs on the cover so my bum gets cold

But I snore like a trucker so.....

IcicleIcicle · 26/01/2022 15:51

Bends his knees whilst lying on his back so it creates a wind tunnel under the duvet, then they slowly fall to one side or the other until they almost touch the mattress and he jerks them upright again. This process repeats until he either changes position or I lose my rag and pull all the duvet over to my side so at least it cures the wind tunnel issue, then his legs get cold and he wakes enough to turn over. I have some sympathy as I know his knees give him grief (he broke both kneecaps when he was 18) but it is really annoying when I'm trying to sleep too!

mardyandmafted · 26/01/2022 15:55

Clacks his teeth together really loudly, worse though he acts out his dreams frequently involving shrieking, shouting, leaping about and on a couple of occasions punching, kicking or grabbing me.

VanLife · 26/01/2022 15:59

Sleeps diagonally, so his head and torso are on his side and his legs and cold feet are on mine 😡

SamphiretheStickerist · 26/01/2022 16:01

Mine snores like a demon, sleeps with his head covered, feet uncovered and acts out his dreams, also causing injury to me. Oh, and his grinds his teeth too.

Which is why we haven't shared a bedrom for decades. I can still sometimes hear him snore. But I always have another door to close on him!

SamphiretheStickerist · 26/01/2022 16:01

Oh yes, sleeps like a blood starfish too...

Pombearsforthewin · 26/01/2022 16:13

For those struggling with issues related to duvet hogging. Go Nordic and get two duvets! Life changer... (and probably life saver for a previous bed sharer who I was close to stabbing!)

roundthew · 26/01/2022 16:16

Snoring like a trucker and saying he didn’t snore when I wake him up after being unable to sleep for hours 👹

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 26/01/2022 16:20

Occasionally "wakes up" while still asleep, turns on the light and starts "looking for his golf ball" by pulling the curtains back.
I understand he's acting out a dream, but how many golf courses have full length curtains in the rough?

amusedbush · 26/01/2022 16:24

DH snores, talks, laughs, farts and kicks in his sleep. He rolls over with the duvet between his knees so it slides off me and I have to fight him to get it back. We tried separate duvets and that helped with that particular problem but he's so bloody noisy, I was woken up constantly and then he would get annoyed by me moaning at him for making noise. Sometimes his sleep talking is really funny (one memorable chat inspired a previous username on here Grin) but when he does it, he is aware enough to know if I don't respond. So he will keep asking me slurred, bonkers questions until I answer him.

I finally gave up and moved into the spare room permanently a year ago and it is absolutely blissful. DH was a bit offended when I suggested it but after the first night apart, he was a complete convert Grin we both sleep so much better and I don't wake up full of rage every day.

MoonBat · 26/01/2022 16:25

Makes me think he's dead. He is as still as a corpse and breathes imperceptibly. If he wasn't so warm I would panic!

We did this about 10 years ago. We have a super king size bed with a double duvet each. He can roll around flicking his duvet about as much as he wants and I remain tucked up and cosy Smile
TheWeeDonkey · 26/01/2022 16:35

Mine does this but the opposite way with his head on my pillow!!!😡 snoring in my face. Wee shite, when I tell him off he rolls over to his side and takes the duvet with him
Dubgirl1212 · 26/01/2022 16:38

His CPAP machine blows air into my face if we face each other or the back of my neck if I turn. The noise is annoying but his snoring is worse. Tries to put his feet near mine, nope, hate other people's feet. Regularly puts his arm under my pillow.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 26/01/2022 16:44

dh somehow pulls the duvet out from my bottom corner of the bed. We have a bed with head and footboard and I just shimmy the duvet and the throw between the mattress and the footboard.

He absolutely will not have it that it is anything that he does, but I make that bed impeccably ...somehow no matter how many dishes are in the sink, or dustbunnies in corners, or piles of laundry...I do not give a bugger about the house if the bed is nicely made.

But when he is on nights, I can slide in and out of bed and it's almost like no one has even been in it....if he is there then the only bit that remains tucked in is the bottom corner on his side.

He's away for a few days just now and I am stripping that bed tomorrow, tucking all the corners in and will lie there and just sigh with joy. Clean sheets and no bloody snoring!

I will confess to sleeping diagonally though, but I am sure the blame for that lies with his diagonal duvet pulling habits.

BubblesThaDragoon · 26/01/2022 17:13

Rocks his head side to side to get to sleep which makes an annoying crinkling sound, he also has restless legs which i know aren't his fault but he twitches and shuffles around which both stop me from getting to sleep.

Oh - he also snores - but denies he was snoring when you wake him up to ask him to stop 😂🥲

Lanique · 26/01/2022 17:32

Gosh, Dh is like a slumbering kitten compared to some of these on here. Anyway, he does this annoying, fidgety bouncing thing - like a salmon just landed on the deck of a boat - when he's just dropping off or restless in the middle of the night. Drives me mad. I have to hit him regularly. We have a super king zip and link and he still annoys the hell out of me. I'm a very light sleeper. And apparently I grind my teeth, so I can't complain too much.

Fuckityfucksake · 26/01/2022 17:40

Mine snores if on his back and if I wake him to tell him to roll over he'll deny doing so GRR!
He also speaks gobbledygook to me - makes no sense at all but like a previous poster's OH - will keep going until I respond. He's not aware of what I actually say but must just hear my voice and that's enough weirdo Good job really as my response is often a loud FFS! :)
Also without fail if we are watching tv in bed and he's dozing, I'll ask if he wants me to stop the programme to watch later...he will categorically deny he was dozing. This will result in him having to rewatch the last 10/15 mins of whatever I've eventually switched off.
If I am the one nodding off and he asks me the same question I'll say sorry I'm too tired, yes please because I was ACTUALLY falling asleep!

Babdoc · 26/01/2022 17:45

Just for a bit of perspective - my much loved DH has been in our village graveyard for the last 30 years. And I still miss him every night.
Treasure your annoying, snoring, duvet stealing husbands, PPs.
Because trust me, that achingly empty space beside you in bed is far worse.

forlornlorna · 26/01/2022 17:45

Mine likes to wake me up to tell me he can't sleep

forlornlorna · 26/01/2022 17:46

Oh and has to sleep with a fan on every single night everyday of the year

Fuckityfucksake · 26/01/2022 17:46

I forgot to add my own annoying shit - I'm not perfect
I rock backwards and forwards a bit (bad back pain) which he says can be a bit annoying.
I, so DH tells me, will laugh hysterically sometimes. I'm also a quilt stealer! I kind of tuck it in my hands then my hands get tucked to my chest so it won't be easy to take back from me if I've pulled a bit too much.
DH sleeps at work a lot which is probably a good thing for both of us :)

Sunsetsupernova · 26/01/2022 17:51

His alarm goes off at 6am every single day (7am on Sundays) and I don’t have to wake up until 8.30. I really do appreciate how hard he works and it must be horrible never having a lie in but I’m such a light sleeper and once I’m awake there’s no going back to sleep. I cannot wait until we move house this year and have a spare room I can sleep in occasionally.

Sunsetsupernova · 26/01/2022 17:52

Oh and I fidget constantly, talk in my sleep, sleep walk and grind my teeth (sometimes so loudly it wakes him up) so I’m sure I’m just as annoying a bed companion Grin
