annoying in bed

what does your partner do in bed that annoys the hell out of you? I don't mean sex but their annoying habits.
mine has this irritating habit of rubbing his feet up and down the sheets. does not sound that bad but we have cotton sheets and they make a terrible noise when he starts rubbing his feet!

OP posts:

Mine can go from finishing a sentence to snoring in less than 30 seconds.

No duvet problems though because we have a superking bed an separate duvets so he can let as much cold air in as he likes under his 10 tog while I'm cocooned in my 13tog.

Imissmoominmama · 26/01/2022 17:55

If I wasn’t a woman, I’d think I was married to you lot. That must be why DH moved into the spare bedroom…

iklboo · 26/01/2022 17:58

Bounces over instead of turning like most people. Likes he's a hexagon or something. Usually when I've got a hot drink.

gamerchick · 26/01/2022 18:07

@Babdoc

Just for a bit of perspective - my much loved DH has been in our village graveyard for the last 30 years. And I still miss him every night. Treasure your annoying, snoring, duvet stealing husbands, PPs. Because trust me, that achingly empty space beside you in bed is far worse.
Why is it someone always posts this stuff when people want a moan?

I have my own bedroom so definitely won't miss it.

PinkSyCo · 26/01/2022 18:10

Gets in it.

This, we've a king size bed and every time he has to turn its like being on a bouncy castle with an elephant.

@IcicleIcicle

Bends his knees whilst lying on his back so it creates a wind tunnel under the duvet, then they slowly fall to one side or the other until they almost touch the mattress and he jerks them upright again. This process repeats until he either changes position or I lose my rag and pull all the duvet over to my side so at least it cures the wind tunnel issue, then his legs get cold and he wakes enough to turn over. I have some sympathy as I know his knees give him grief (he broke both kneecaps when he was 18) but it is really annoying when I'm trying to sleep too!
God exactly this! Lack of broken knee caps yet Angry but drives me crazy

Also like PP, DH acts out his dreams, talks, attacks things that aren’t there, flails his limbs like he’s in fucking river dance...

He’s sat bolt upright and screamed a couple of times. Now that’s a way to wake up at god-forsaken AM...

I'm sorry for your loss but, Jesus Christ, we're allowed to moan about our partners now & again! I've no doubt you loved your husband and miss him but I'm willing to bet he did stuff that got on your tits now and again - and vice versa.
Oldraver · 26/01/2022 19:01

Has to have his feet out of the bedclothes which means him pulling the top sheet, bedspread and duvet out ... That I have carefully made

mogkat · 26/01/2022 19:06

Puts his cold feet on me!

Huntswomanonthemove · 26/01/2022 19:11

Separate rooms for us. I could never go back, it's bliss.

Itsnotdeep · 26/01/2022 19:11

I can't stand sharing a bed - if I ever live with anyone again, I'm definitely having separate bedrooms!

RiderGirl · 26/01/2022 19:19

Mine does the lying on his back with his knee bent too, it sways slowly down and he keeps jerking it back up - I generally kick his foot so his leg goes straight!

CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 26/01/2022 19:28

As he goes to sleep he often has these jolts that make him twitch - if I'm dozing off they wake me right up!

Nidan2Sandan · 26/01/2022 19:32

DH exhales really hard on every breath. So if I try to sleep facing him it's like sleeping in the midst of a wind tunnel. Literally blows my hair.

Cherrysoup · 26/01/2022 19:34

Basic snoring through which I cannot sleep. Fortunately, we have a spare room into which I migrate early hours of every morning.

waterlego · 26/01/2022 19:37

My OH does the foot thing too OP, usually just as he’s settling down to sleep. Some sort of self-soothing I suppose, but it’s bloody annoying. He also snores and takes up too much space. He isn’t a large guy but he and the dog sometimes take up so much space that I’m left with a small sliver at the edge- and that’s in a super king bed. Greedy bastards!

waterlego · 26/01/2022 19:38

Oh God, reading other replies now and nodding along. OH does the sudden jolt thing too when he’s drifting off and sometimes breathes heavily into my face. PP’s ‘wind tunnel’ description made me laugh!

waterlego · 26/01/2022 19:43

@roundthew

Snoring like a trucker and saying he didn’t snore when I wake him up after being unable to sleep for hours 👹
I always loudly tell OH he’s snoring to wake him up. Usually he apologises and turns over onto his side. However, on one occasion, he rather indignantly said: ‘Oh! I didn’t hear it!’ I guess he was half asleep and didn’t realise it was a ridiculous thing to say 😂
OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 26/01/2022 19:44

Not my DH but me. I have regular night terrors and wake him up by shrieking like a banshee about various imaginary shit I'm convinced is coming to get us both. I don't know how he puts up with me TBH Grin

loloballlolo · 26/01/2022 19:45

I don't have a DH in bed but my nine year old still gets in my bed and then lies diagonally across leaving me hanging off the edge for dear life! (He is cute tho!)

I had both DH and 9 year old in the bed last night.
9 year old having woken up in middle of night needing water and declaring he had to drink out of my glass as it tasted better than his water Hmm. And then falling asleep with his (lovely but very sniffly) head resting on mine.
I'm just waiting for my cold to kick in now...

Bizarrely I still sleep better with everyone in the bed even if I only get a postage stamp of space!

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 26/01/2022 20:50

If I nudge dh for snoring he ALWAYS without fail says "I'm not asleep"

I think I yelled once..."no, but you are bloody snoring" Hmm
He never remembers if I ask

Something I have found that works to stop him snoring is to poke him...not awake and not to move him, just a finger onto his arm/back/arse/chest, or a toe in the back of his leg....touch and press in a slightly poking pressing fashion and it stops him. At least long enough for me to get to sleep and not to lie there in a righteous fury.

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 26/01/2022 20:55

Snuggling up to me and breathing on the back of my neck! Spooning is comfortable, but I can't stand the hot breath on my back. I have to get him pull a bit of duvet down to cover me.
