Regular periods, brown blood few days after usual ovulation time

Does anyone have any experience with this... I usually have very regular periods of around 28 days. My last period was on the 28th of December for 5 days, everything seemed normal maybe slightly lighter than usual but not by much. 15 days later I started bleeding again but it was very light and much darker like old blood at the end of a period, but only lasted for about 3ish days. Does anyone know if it is it possible I could've still ovulated around day 14ish or is it unlikely. Had unprotected sex with partner few times before the second bleed around the time I would've ovulated. I am now 1 day passed the day I would've been due my period but I don't know if I should expect AF now or 28 days from the latest bleeding.. which would make it the 7th of Feb. Anyone got any experience with something like this?

Spotting around the time of ovulation is relatively common for many women. It doesn't really mean anything other than you ovulated about that time.

@mindutopia It was definitely a first for me, so wasn't sure if it meant I had still ovulated or not as it wasn't a lot of blood but it was enough to wear a pad for those few days. Just a bit of a waiting game whether or not I get my period!
