My sleep is horrific at the moment. I go to bed anytime between 9 and 10.30, fall asleep easily but I wake up SO EARLY. At first it was 6 which I could cope with, I’m a morning person so getting up at 6 is quite nice.
Lately it has been 5 or 4 but this morning was 3am and I just can’t get back to sleep😭😭😭 I have three kids and a busy job, I cannot cope like this😭😭😭

I’m happy and relaxed, no major worries, I exercise, eat healthily, drink limited coffee and no alcohol. I’m tired when I go to bed! I’ve tried going to bed later but it makes no difference. Still up earlier and earlier.

When I wake I sometimes look at my phone or listen to audiobooks which is know doesn’t help but lying there trying to go back to sleep doesn’t help neither!

Please give me your top tips for getting back to sleep when I wake at 3 or 4am. I cannot cope like this😭😭😭

@WTHiswrongwithme
what a great update OP! I am so pleased to hear things got better for you! πŸ˜€

I have just found your thread as I am going through exactly the same thing now.

44 years old. No problem getting to sleep but waking in the middle of the night. Often I can drift back to sleep after about an hour, only to keep waking every 15 mins or so after that til the alarm goes off. The anxiety makes it all worse and now it is happening every night even weekends.

It’s been months now since I had a good night’s sleep all the way through and I am feeling exhausted and miserable. I’m guessing Perimenopause has a lot to do with it but i do also have a lot weighing on my mind at the moment 😞

I tend to look at the clock! So will try not doing that tonight.

Are there any other things you tried that will help?

Many thanks for updating!!!

Sorry you’re suffering @anewbook! honestly I don’t know what changed for me but things are so much better now.
As I said not looking at the clock did really help, as does getting plenty of exercise and not drinking alcohol and (too much) caffeine.

in your case it may well be (peri) menopause! Worth going to your GP as HRT could really help.

Also, I have actually stated going to bed later (10pmish) and this does really help.
now I usually sleep 10-6 which is perfect for me!
