How low can some people go? (Rant) - sensitivr content

Back when I was at uni and lived in a shared uni hall accommodation, a guy in his mid twenties moved in and took my abusive ex boyfriend’s previous room. Just as I thought I was done with the sexual harassment and assault, this guy turned out to be a massive creep.

After constant real life and online harassment, stalking, spreading rumours that we were dating after I had told him I wasn’t interested, threats to hurt me if I rejected him, bullying, weird sexual demands etc etc… I was moved somewhere safe before I managed to get a restraining order against him.

That guy would constantly tell me about his deceased little sister that had passed away of a heart attack when she was a little girl. He told me that he couldn’t afford to lose me after losing her (a week or so after he had moved in, we didn’t know each other before). He would use his sister’s example again and again every time he wanted to apologise for his behaviour.

Today, I found out he was an only child and never had a little sister…

How low can one get? I’m appalled

Yikes he sounds like a nutter, making up a story to get your sympathy. Stay well away

Yes, just disappointed in myself to have been so naive.
Thankfully gone no contact with him

Do you know for certain he was an only child and that there never was a sister? How do you know that for certain?

I mean the bloke sounds like a creep and a weirdo and you’re well rid of him, but I do know of people who have either lost a child or a sibling and thus they consider themselves to have an only child, with the deceased one in memory, iyswim.
