My DS isn't sure if Uni is for him and is looking at career options - so far he is exploring :

The armed forces
The police

Can usually think of any other avenues he could look into?

How old is he? Would learning a trade/doing an apprenticeship appeal? Electricians and plumbers are always in demand and seem to make a killing round here!

Are there any big employers around that offer apprenticeships or internships? We run a scheme at work and some of our apprentices have done really well. One that started with us at 16 working with the IT support team is now a technical project manager, another started very low down in the Finance team but is now studying accountancy qualifications and another one that started in the HR team doing admin worked his way up and did his HR qualifications through work and is now an HR Advisor.

Accountancy apprenticeship. Only requires A levels.
