To ask what this is? (Pics included)

Have posted in The Unexplained but am hoping people will see it here! So my mums house, she has been there many years. The wall in the picture is 3rd floor next to the outside of her bedroom door, behind the door is a bathroom. The wall is bubbling out (it’s quite hard to see in the pictures), I thought typical bubbling was lots of little bubbles, this looks like a handprint and we’re secretly freaking out! Suggestions to calm us down grin

That's water/damp

MiniatureHotdog · 24/01/2022 00:08

It's just damp surely? Something in the bathroom leaking?

TheWooTrain · 24/01/2022 00:11

No leaks in the bathroom, it’s also not the wall that the shower is on iyswim? Just really random, and for it to be a handprint! Poor mum is burning sage... Grin

It looks like damp in the wall to me. If you google bubbling paint on wall, the pictures look just like yours. What's behind it?

TheWooTrain · 24/01/2022 00:20

@ImInACage I could only find the small clusters of bubbles! Clearly typing in the wrong thing. It’s just an empty wall behind it, opposite the empty wall is the sink, and the shower is other side of room nowhere near it, she swears blind there is no kind of wetness on it either!

I think someone is trapped in the wall and is trying to get out.

Bambooshoot · 24/01/2022 07:21

Someone put their hand into the wall before the original plaster had died and left a print. This was then covered up and smoothed over with a different filler which is now expanding due to damp?

Or yes, someone is trying to get out.
