Feeling the January blues today! Two days of grey sky and cold. Kids feeling under the weather. They don’t ew to go out even to get fresh air. Just paid of credit card from Xmas. Sorted self assessment tax bill today to be paid at end of Jan. also as tax bill has increased I have to pay for for Jan - June this year. Also just paid the accountants bill. Just paying out money, money, money!
It’s cold and grey. I’m so fed up.
How is anyone else cheering themselves up?

Me too! Well I don't have any money to spend which is depressing! I get paid next week though. 😅 £500 of it is going on my credit card though 🙄

Curiousmouse · 23/01/2022 15:35

And February and March.

MummyShah369 · 23/01/2022 15:38

Yeah can’t wait for Jan to be over our whole family has Covid got a nasty surprise on the gas and electric bills just want winter to finish

Curiousmouse · 23/01/2022 15:43

Although, the weather gets warmer each month from now-statistically true! And plenty of sunshine in February and especially March.

Babymamaroon · 23/01/2022 17:12

Me too. I'm ready for brighter days and happier times tbh.

Life feels very heavy for one reason and another right now and I don't think I'm coping very well with it.

Babymamaroon · 23/01/2022 17:14

And to actually answer your question: I'm reading loads and trying to escape my sad feelings.

I've also got some mini breaks to look forward to although that's not really keeping me chipper at all.

Just feeling blue Sad

Us too,

megletthesecond · 23/01/2022 18:56

Fed up. Dishwasher broke at the start of the month and it's two weeks until I can get a new one fitted.
I can't cope with housework at the best of times (challenging teen) but my kitchen is permanently messy now. Messy and broke.

Boo hoo. It's my birthday on Tuesday, I'm off to Norfolk for a week on Wednesday and will have lunch with an old school friend on Friday, Van Gogh and posh lunch with my sister when I get back ... plenty of lovely things. It's not the same for all of us

CouldItBeYesItCould · 23/01/2022 18:58

I concur.
We've all got covid at the moment and just feeling really fed up.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 23/01/2022 19:06

I hear you op! I’m just not really feeling it today. I’ve felt on edge for pretty much all of January. Mines not money relate, it just everything seems like hard work!

I must say I dragged everyone out for a bracing walk on the beach earlier and that helped. I’ve spent the afternoon making soup which seems like a good use of my time. At least I’m sorted for my lunch for a few days!

DinosApple · 23/01/2022 19:07

Us too. Bills, bills, bills and ill!

Days are getting longer though, won't be long.

RosieLeaLovesTea · 23/01/2022 19:27

Thanks all. January is a tough month. Yes the days are getting longer and lighter. I’m thankful for that ☺️

So far in January we’ve had:-
A political crisis which is ongoing
A huge wave of Omicron and wfh/ mask regulations
A tsunami and earthquake in Tonga
Riots in Brussels
Really cold weather
Spiralling inflation and energy crisis
Potential war in Ukraine.

Not a good start, quite honestly.

Delatron · 23/01/2022 20:34

Those lovely sunny crisp days were really helping my mood. I didn’t realise how much until the greyness set in over the past few days. And it’s just so cold.

Not long now. One day at a time!

The answer to the OPs question is a holiday in early February, in Dorset. Though I don't have children at school, so not an option for many.
