Just about to get up as DC6 has been awake and reading in their room for an hour already but OH and DC11 are still sound asleep. OH out with friends this afternoon so just me and kids. Will probably head out for a walk/on bikes and make nice Sunday dinner plus the usual Sunday laundry and homework in preparation for week ahead but wondering if could fit something more interesting in too.
What are you all doing with your Sunday?

My to do list is iron school shirts, bake birthday cake, help dd2 to bake (she doesn't really need me though), prep for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday.

My dad's popping round with some fresh eggs too, and I've defrosted a chicken for a roast.

I'll check whether the girls have home work and help, if needed. I expect; other than getting sorted for tomorrow; they'll Minecraft, watch other people play Minecraft 🙄 or play The Sims.

I'd like to finish off dd1's socks I've been making too -but they might wait for tomorrow. I seem to have planned myself a very busy day!

But first, a brew in silence, to start the day peacefully 😊

DS has been badgering me to do Lego with him. After tense negotiations it’s been agreed I can drink my coffee first- I’m currently spinning that out!

DD wants to bake cupcakes.

So: Lego, cupcakes, homework, laundry, and get DD to wear in her new school shoes.

Dunno what DH is planning, but I was out all day yesterday so it’s his day “off” today - he’s doing the roast later though.

I'm really tired after covid and am full time from Monday so need a quiet day to recharge. Lie in whilst DCs 11 and 8 amuse themselves then a cooked breakfast. Possibly a short bike ride all together. Film, reading my book, getting ready for the week.

mdh2020 · 23/01/2022 09:15

Still getting over Covid. I have a sewing project to finish off and will walk round to my DS for a cup of tea this afternoon. Sunday’s tend to be fairly lazy. Often the only day of the week I can wear a tracksuit and no make up. We avoid making plans for Sunday evenings.

DS is at his dad's until lunchtime, his dad is taking him to his morning hobby. I've just changes the beds and put some washing on, now about to do a bit of hoovering and clean out the fridge, then nip to get a couple of bits that I forgot when I did the food shop yesterday. When DS gets back I'll take him to his afternoon hobby, we'll be back home for about 4pm and he'll read some of his school book then chill for the evening.

Taking DC swimming this afternoon so need to get them to finish their homework this morning. I have a headache and am exhausted and don’t want to go swimming.
Then cook dinner, spend hours putting DC to bed, make packed lunches, iron school uniform, tidy up.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 23/01/2022 09:43

Lay in bed, after a week of being wiped out with Covid. Waiting for water board to come and unblock the communal drain that has flooded my back garden 🤮
My get up for cheese on toast at some point.

Rupertpenrysmistress · 23/01/2022 09:45

Sounds like similar weekends all round. I was at work all day yesterday so didn't want to waste today however, I am still in bed captive under a cat. Just had a cuppa from DH and I need to get up but I am trapped.

Otherwise ironing, dinner, shopping and getting ready for work tomorrow maybe!

namechangeanonymous · 23/01/2022 09:48

We're off to look at Cots and other baby furniture :-)

Babdoc · 23/01/2022 10:05

Resting! Yesterday, DD and her partner encouraged me, despite my long Covid fatigue, to walk nearly five miles through the Sidlaw hills, to climb an 1100 foot escarpment, and to admire the stunning views from the cairn on the top of Lundie Craigs.
I am v proud I managed it, and hopeful that I am at last, after two years of breathlessness and exhaustion, beginning to recover - but boy, am I knackered!

confusedofengland · 23/01/2022 10:13

Had the week from hell (GOSH appointment, grandfather's funeral, lot of work), then overnight visiting family yesterday (130 miles away), so having a chill out this morning while DH & DS1 have football.

Trying to sell everything I can as DH starts a new job tomorrow 🥳 after being a student during Covid as no work around, but doesn't get paid for 5 weeks. Have loads of debts mounted up from last couple of years & all a bit desperate now, but just have to hang in there for 5 more weeks!

Going for a walk with friends this afternoon, will take drinks for the kids & just buy coffee out. Ds1 & I know the DS & Mum (I was at school with her), but the others have not met. DS2 should be at senior school with the DD, which should be nice.

I'm suffering from insomnia, fell to sleep at 5.30am. Dog woke me up at 7am but I did manage to fall back to sleep until 11. Feel awful and am getting increasingly frustrated with this situation, which doesn't help. Had so much planned for today and now feel like a zombie and it's raining (not in the UK)

Crunchymum · 23/01/2022 10:27

Going to blitz the chores (ironing, washing, homework, baths etc) and then we are off the inlaws for dinner.

DP is working and will meet us there.

Looking forward to be fed and watered and the kids can wrap up and run around their huge garden.

languagelover96 · 23/01/2022 10:27

Nothing all plans cancelled.

MagdaTrudy · 23/01/2022 10:30

Brisket already in the oven slow cooking for dinner this evening, my Mum is on her way round to bring birthday presents, then I'll walk the dogs. Need to put up a curtain track and hem some curtains. Will eat the brisket tonight then settle down to watch Call The Midwife.

Sounds like a lot of us have had similar days so hoping you've all been productive but also managed to rest and relax too.
Hope all those feeling under par or recuperating have had a restful day.
It's been very grey and cold here but still good to get out for some fresh air.
Hope you all have a good week SmileDaffodil
