McDonald’s for tea tonight! Been a long day. But stuck as to what to have!

What would your order be? 😋

@LeQuern

It’s been years since I had McD’s - what’s the difference between, say, a Big Mac with fries and a Big Mac Meal?
Meal comes with a drink Mac and fries is just burger and fries
MrsDrSpencerReid · 22/01/2022 07:44

Ooh what’s on a Kiwi burger?

I wish we had cherry pies in Aus all the time, I don’t think we’ve had them in years! We have a custard pie sometimes and there was a chocolate one recently too.

HalloHello · 22/01/2022 07:48

Breakfast is my fave thing at McDs. Double sausage and egg Mcmuffin meal with an extra hash brown to put in the muffin, BBQ sauce, Cappuccino and OJ.

I usually get whatever chicken special they're doing and whatever cheese side there doing, always large meal, diet coke and one of each dip!

Whatliesbeneath707 · 22/01/2022 07:51

Has anyone had their favourite meal but in a different country? We travelled through France one year on holiday and stopped off for a McDonald's early in the journey. Well 🤩 the food was so much tastier than in the UK. Everything, even the McFlurries were nicer & they sold alcohol too. It spoilt us after having the food in France.

Cas112 · 22/01/2022 07:51

Big Mac meal

Sparkai · 22/01/2022 07:52

@Blondie1984

Oh and I’d get one of their new vegan burgers just to try
I wouldn't bother, they're bloody awful.

I tried one yesterday. The patty is very insubstantial texture-wise and has no taste. I was so disappointed. It's not a patch on the bk one.

I've had McDonald's in Vienna and Prague and can confirm they're so different to UK and probably much nicer!
Marmite27 · 22/01/2022 07:53

Large Big Mac meal with a strawberry milkshake, 9 nugs to go halves and a sweet chilli sauce.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/01/2022 07:53

Double cheeseburger, nuggets, fries, mozzarella sticks when they have them, large full fat coke, McFlurry to finish.

Afonavon · 22/01/2022 07:53

@Salaro

Fries, mcflurry and the old vegetarian burger that they don't do anymore. Fries dipped in the ice-cream. Its been years though, no McDonald's near me and then I got diagnosed with celiac, so can't do it now even if they opened up a store near me. Sad
Yes to the old veggie burger. It was gorgeous. It had chickpeas in it and was my fave veggieburger from anywhere ever. I liked it in the wrap. Much nicer than the veggie goujons!

My order would be:
The old (chickpea) spicy veggie wrap
Large fries & ketchup
DietCoke

BarbaraofSeville · 22/01/2022 07:54

They have a chicken one in Cyprus (and assume Greece) which is unbreaded. It's called a Greek Mac and comes in a folded flat bread. Delicious. Sounds like the chicken Mac will be breaded though

I wish we had flatbread things in UK McDonalds because I really don't like their bread, but love a flatbread.

I'd probably never have McDonalds in the evening, because it's breakfast or lunchtime food for me and if I wanted takeaway in the evening, I'd get pizza/Chinese or Indian.

I haven't been for breakfast since before covid as they don't do the things I like any more (sausage bagel or breakfast wrap, without cheese) but if I go for lunch I'll have fish fillet meal with coke zero, or maybe nuggets (buy 20 because 6 isn't enough and if you're buying more than 6, you might as well buy 20 because they cost hardly any more than 9, sometimes I manage not to eat them all in one go), apple pie and coffee.

Jealous of the cherry pies too, they sound awesome. They don't do different flavoured fruit pies here often enough either.

JulieGoods · 22/01/2022 07:56

Big Mac meal with Coke Zero. Maybe some cheese dipper things if they're on the menu currently.

BarbaraofSeville · 22/01/2022 07:56

I had the burger king plant whopper or whatever it was called the other day, it was OK. I was in a service station and wish I'd had the KFC vegan version instead.

BettyfromBristol · 22/01/2022 07:58

This is a genuine question, not a criticism. I've never been to a McDonald's so a bit clueless.

Would there be anything for a vegan, particularly one on a low salt diet?

miltonj · 22/01/2022 07:59

Grand crispy meal at the moment, but it changes!

My partner loves the Greek Mac in Cyprus and we always go to the one on kings road at some point during our holiday 🥰
Russell19 · 22/01/2022 08:00

Cheese bites or mozzarella sticks!

LapinR0se · 22/01/2022 08:00

Quarter pounder with cheese, 6 chicken nuggets, fries and a coke

BarbaraofSeville · 22/01/2022 08:02

They have a vegan section on their website.

The food is quite salty, but not more so than other similar food like ham, bread, cheese etc. Whether or not it is suitable would depend on how strict you need to be and how often you go. I can't see how it would matter as a one off.

BarbaraofSeville · 22/01/2022 08:02

That was to @BettyfromBristol

They do a strawberry and custard pie too. No idea why our our choice is so limited on the uk. I'd love to have a cherry one

Spilltheteaplease · 22/01/2022 08:11

I really want fries now!

My order varies.
Today I'd have Big Mac with extra sauce, fries and a Diet Coke. 6 nugs with bbq sauce that I'll only eat half of.
McFlurry.
If I'm not having a McFlurry I'll change the drink order to a vanilla shake.

Spilltheteaplease · 22/01/2022 08:11

Unless Big Tasty was back of course.

Phos · 22/01/2022 08:14

Either a filet o fish or McPlant with large fries and sprite. McFlurry if I’m feeling greedy.

ThreeRingCircus · 22/01/2022 08:15

Big mac, fries and sprite zero or quarter pounder, fries and diet coke.

Cheesy bites as a side order, love them.

Wish they'd bring all the breakfast options back, I used to love the sausage egg and cheese bagel with a hash brown and a latte but they haven't been doing the bagel in months at my local one.
