We're just cooking pork loin steaks & roasting some spuds with garlic and parmesan to go with them 😋

We'll have some salady bits too, on the side. What about you lot?

Was going to make a Thai chicken curry but going to leave that until tomorrow. So dh is having cornflakes and dc pizza.
He already had a hot meal today.

INeedNewShoes · 21/01/2022 18:08

Roast vegetable curry, rice, yoghurt & coriander dip and naan bread.

But now, having read this thread, I want fillet steak, celeriac fries, buttered cabbage with creamy peppercorn sauce.

I'm putting that on the menu for another night! How do you make the celeriac fries @RadioSixMusicLover

Chicken / quorn pittas, Ceaser salad and frozen wedges done in the air fryer Grin

RadioSixMusicLover · 21/01/2022 18:15

@INeedNewShoes, we Low carb so this is our usual Friday night dinner! Celeriac fries are just a peeled and cut celeriac, chip sized pieces, (obv) then we let them sit in a mixture of olive oil, paprika and salt, pepper for a while, not long. Onto a hot baking tray on 220 for a good 30 - 40 mins. The way we like them is slightly overdone, there’s a fine line between undercooked, (yuck), and overdone, ie burnt. But they are deeeelicious!

realfood.tesco.com/recipes/carls-all-change-casserole.html with cannellini beans and carrots instead of haricot beans and butternut squash. Leftovers from yesterday.

Sn0tnose · 21/01/2022 18:16

I’m having homemade chicken burgers with loads of mayo and DH is having home made lamb burgers.

Going out for dinner - possibly Turkish.

We've just had baked salmon and jacket potatoes with steamed brocoli. DD had chicken nuggets instead of the salmon!

Flingingmelon · 21/01/2022 18:19

Lasagne and garlic bread. Xx want a night with no complaints!

PollyCreo · 21/01/2022 18:21

This is the dahl recipe:

www.feastingathome.com/cauliflower-dal/

For the Bombay potatoes I:

Microwave a couple of big potatoes until they're slightly soft but not cooked.

Fry cumin seeds, crushed coriander seeds and mustard seeds for 30 seconds. Add garlic and ginger (jar stuff is fine) and finely diced onions, salt, turmeric and garam masala. Let it all soften for a few minutes then add tomatoes - the aroma will be driving you mad by this point! Then add the diced/cubed potatoes and leave to simmer for a further ten minutes, there should be enough liquid to prevent it drying out. At the last minute add fresh chopped spinach and coriander leaves and serve! I like a squeeze of lemon too Wink

Gindrinker43 · 21/01/2022 18:35

I found some slices of quiche in the freezer so we are having it with letters sautéed with balsamic vinegar

GalesThisMorning · 21/01/2022 18:35

We had butternut squash thai green curry. I wanted macaroni & cheese with bacon lardons, like a pp, but DH's intolerances means I would have had to eat it all myself! Jealous, and hope it tasted as good as I imagine 😋

aspectinputmenutext · 21/01/2022 18:37

This chow mein, but with rice noodles, delicious and quick!!!!

Thoughtsarrivelikebutterflies5 · 21/01/2022 18:43

I had mackerel (marinated with garlic, lime, chilli and coriander) with rice and crispy kale.
Everyone else had pizzas (I'm gluten and lactose intolerant)

rainrainraincamedowndowndown · 21/01/2022 18:46

Meatball spag. Can't be bothered to cook, so used the ones in the freezer with simple tomato sauce.

I've just had sticky teriyaki chicken with jasmine rice and tenderstem broccoli. It hit the spot perfectly. I'm now just waiting for apple crumble to heat up in the oven
