Mastitis- would you still call GP?

Mastitis came on very quickly last night , horrendous pain in my right breast agony to feed with , was shaking and felt freezing, temperature went up , then was boiling , nearly passed out , fed baby as much as I could and massaged painful area .

This morning most of the tenderness has gone , temp normal , just feel very tired (up most of the night feeling so rough) and like I just got over flu, should I still ring GP or assume that I have shifted the blockage ?

Thank you! X

If you’re no longer having any worrying symptoms then I wouldn’t. You want to avoid antibiotics if possible as they can lead to thrush etc. But if you have any reoccurrence of symptoms then yes do contact GP.
Hope you can rest, feed and drink today!

Personally I wouldn't bother at this stage, I didn't and it just continued to improve. Maybe not the 'right' advice but personally I found that once I was over the worst like it sounds you are, it just got better on its own. Speedy recovery! X

As its Friday I would give the doctor a call. Most probably you have cleared the blockage but you can get a prescription which you just hold in case things take a turn over the weekend. Mastitis can be quite serious and can progress quickly, I ended up in hospital with a breast abscess after struggling through a weekend, really wish I had got help sooner
