I was going to spend January getting healthy and reading books

And instead I’ve been eating too much bread and cake and wasting hours on my phone Sad
I’m going to turn this around.
I’m picturing healthy soups, some exercise and getting through my pile of unread books.
Starting tomorrow Smile

I'm starting tomorrow - just ate a pack of pringles with DH and had a whisky 😁

BeanAnTae · 19/01/2022 00:33

Going to read Atomic Habits - what are you reading OP?

HipposHaveNipples · 19/01/2022 00:35

I had McDonald's for dinner but I've read four books so far this year so I'm halfway there Grin

Better late than never. I have been trying to catch up at work, stave off winter depression, spent far too much on clothes that I daren't look and have so many things to return and have been eating out constantly to avoid being home alone. That's what I have done. What I haven't done is exercise or eat well.

I really struggle with over or under doing things and I hate WFH.

I kind of need to just focus on one thing, so maybe that can be catch up at work (and return things as otherwise it will be too late!). That is achievable for January.

I used to read loads and now I MN instead 🤦🏽‍♀️

I have a lovely book on the go, Castles in the Air by Judy Corbett. It's the 19th Jan and I'm only halfway through.

Good luck Smile

I've eaten way too much bread this year and had q kidney infection, now have covid so will try to get back on track after that!

We went to McDonalds drive through a week ago and tried to order chicken nugget happy meals at 9.30am. The lady barked back 'its only breakfast'. Parent of the year here trying to give DC happy meals for breakfast Blush. They usually eat well and in my defence if I let them eat happy meals often I probably would have known happy meals arent available at 9.30am.

These were/are my goals too and I’m failing miserably! I can’t get off my phone or stop eating non stop. I’m considering a snack now because I’m hungry but I don’t need to eat in the middle of the night! Perhaps we need some accountability…

This resonates with me so much! I have done so much clothes shopping that it’s embarrassing when the Hermes guy comes to the door - and I don’t even like most of it. I need to get it packaged up and returned.

I’ve promised myself every single day that I would go on the trainer after work. I have managed one lousy day.

My work to-do list keeps getting longer and longer (although to be fair I have been working bloody hard).

@BeanAnTae I have so many books I could read at the moment. A big pile of them. Some of my choices are
A Walk in the Woods
The Ex Husband
The other half of Augusta Hope
River Kings
Empire of the Vampire

And those were just the ones for Christmas. I’m just not sure what I’m in the mood for because my phone just seems way more interesting Blush
I’ll have to decide.
No bread or cake for me today though!
I have planned a lovely lentil soup for dinner and I made hummus yesterday. It’s a start Smile

I’m not sure what I’m in the mood for so can’t decide.

Oops an escaped sentence placed itself at the end of my post.

My husband gave me 'War and Peace' for Christmas. That'll keep me going!

I'm the same, house is littered with books two pages in. Chatting on here is much more in the moment I suppose? Miss my ability to read a book.
