Hello all,

I have the fun job of planning a weekend away for my husband's birthday in May. My parents have agreed to look after the DC so I'm keen to find somewhere that we can maximise child free fun. I'd love to hear any suggestions of places not more than a couple of hours from London, that are a bit unusual - like treehouses at Chewton Glen vibe but that seems a waste without the DC! I'd also love it to have something to do on-site or nearby - cookery school, clay pigeon shooting, something like that?! Thanks in advance...!

Beaverbrook or Lucknam Park

Thanks so much for the suggestions! Limewood only has suites left for the weekend I need sadly. Beaverbrook and Luckhurst look lovely but very family friendly and ideally we'd go somewhere without kids. The Hilly Huts would be perfect - exactly what we're looking for - except the beds are only doubles and my DH is a massive princess and can only sleep in king sized beds....Hmm any other suggestions v welcome!

Seconding Lime Wood. We have done Chewton Glen and Lime Wood and absolutely loved both, but Lime Wood wins.

We did a cookery class (and stayed at) Lainston House and would highly
recommend it there. www.exclusive.co.uk/lainston-house/
Also off to The Pig in Kent for a few child free days and that looks nice. Have fun!
