Blood pressure and trying for a baby?

Was I wrong to want to control my blood pressure before deciding to try for a baby? I was on medicine for 6 months. I just thought if u had gotten pregnant something would have gone wrong due to the high blood pressure.

What did your doctor say?

I've been taking medication for a long time for blood pressure and took it throughout two pregnancies and every thing was fine. I was consultant lead.

He didn't say anything but he wanted me to stop the pills gradually.

I had a couple of extra appointments at the hospital towards the end of my pregnancies. When we decided to start trying for a baby I went to the GP and told her and she changed my tablets from ramipril to one that is safer in pregnancy, and after I had given birth I went back onto ramipril
