Ninja Foodi or Instant Pot? Recommendations?

Been trying to cook more and eat out less this year and have decided to reward myself (with the money I’ve saved!) with a Ninja Foodi or Instant Pot. Ninja Foodi seems more expensive but can’t decide which ‘100 in 1’ version would be best! Instant Pot seems cheaper but maybe I’m missing something! Anyone got any recommendations?

If it helps, I need one which has a pressure cooker and slow cooker function. Needs to hold enough to feed a family of four. Would be good if it could do a roast chicken now and again. Needs to be easy to clean (dishwasher safe bowls?). One that could replace my steamer would be good as that would mean I could combine the current bulky stuff in my cupboards into one item!

We have a Ninja Foodi. Yes they're more expensive but we love ours and use it at least twice a day. Can't recommend them highly enough tbh.

@Squiff70 do you know which model you have? There seem to be so many different ones!

@Sleepdeprived42long we have the AG551UK. I deliberately didn't mention the model as you said you wanted one with a pressure cooker and slow cooker option which ours doesn't have. Ours has numerous settings including bake, grill, air fry and dehydrate but not what you're after. There will be a Ninja out there which will fulfil your needs, I'm sure.

I’ve got the 9 in one which is slow and pressure cooker. I don’t use it as much as I thought I would though as I have a slow cooker already. I could do with more pressure cooking recipes. It is brilliant at that. And can cook a large chicken in about an hour! Pressure cook then air fry.
I think the real reason I don’t use it more is because I can’t figure out timings and how to combine settings without an idiots guide.
Most recently made a bloody lovely chicken biriani though. DH asked me to make it again as he was still eating it!!

We have the ninja foodi. I think its the 9in1. We love it. Use it daily, even if its for silly things like par baked rolls or bake at home croissants for breakfast. Generally use it for the pressure cooker, air fry or bake function. We used it to cook salmon and tenderstem broccoli last week. (Part pressure cook then to steam). A nice , Simple and tasty one pot dish. Easily big enough for 2 persons in this way.

I have the 9 in 1 ninja and love it. Was replacing our actifry and it was only a little bit more for this.

Oven is barely used these days, just pizza and garlic bread really as won't fit in.

I had a lend of a pkp previously and it wasn't a patch on the ninja.

I have the 9 in 1 Foodi and use it several times a day too. It’s big (it takes up a lot of counter space in my tiny kitchen) and a bit noisy, but I still love it.

We’ve just got the 7in1 (OP450UK), it hasn’t got the dehydrate or yoghurt function but I don’t need those.
It has a 7.5l pot for slow cooking which is fine for the 5 of us.
We cooked a roast chicken in it yesterday and it came out really well. Our oven broke over Christmas and we’re still waiting for it to be repaired so the ninja was a stop gap, we’ve used it everyday though so haven’t missed having an oven yet.

I’ve got Ninja foodi. It’s taking me a bit of time to get to grips with the air crisp element. It’s a bit of a faff if you are trying to cook say fish and chips as they require different settings and the basket is quite small. The pressure cooker works well though.

My sister has the new 15 in 1 that doesn't have the pressure/slow cook lid separately and it's fab. If I was getting a new one I'd choose that one!

I think the newest model has the one lid for pressure cooking and grilling and would recommend this. I’ve got the 9 in one and the pressure cooker lid is huge and is awkward to store as it’s separate from the machine.

Do you mind naming the book? There are so many it's hard to work which are any good!

Another vote for the 9 in one. Use it most days and so easy to clean.

I used the 9 in 1 for a couple of months but it takes up loads of space especially the separate lid plus the cord was less than a metre long so could only have it right next to a socket.
I only tried it as it was an unwanted gift to a relative who was trying to shift it. I gave it back after a couple of months. It needs the same amount of space as a microwave and I wasn't getting alot of use out of it.
Plus I couldn't figure out if it was more energy efficient than just turning on the small oven on my gas cooker. Does anyone with a smart metre know how energy efficient it is?

I should say though that I cook most meals from scratch already so have a good oven, a small pressure cooker and my trusty old actifry which is nearly ten years old so the ninja foodie wasn't doing anything that I wasn't already able to do.
I suppose if I had none of the older gadgets then maybe the foodie would have really been my all in one.
Just to balance my first post out a little

I bought the Instant Pot (Duo Crisp in my case) as it’s more hygenic. Not sure how the Ninja foodie can be kept clean when the lid doesn’t come off.

The 9 in one has 2 lids, one for pressure cooking etc which comes off for cleaning.

I had this in my basket in various places, got a 15% code via Very, so have pressed the button!

I bought the 9-1 then the grill and then the duel! I use them all a lot definitely worth the investments.
