Le creuset style casserole - white?

O wise ones, can anyone help?
I'm after a cast iron enamel casserole but the cream ones are VERY yellow-y looking... I'd prefer white-ish. I've looked in John Lewis, Amazon, Argos. The Le Creuset Meringue is the ideal shade but it's £250. Help!

Ooh I’ve got a white one that I found in a charity shop. It’s much loved and well used. Not that it helps you…

Have you looked in TK Maxx? Or eBay? Gumtree?

WhatIsThisPlease · 16/01/2022 19:51

I think The White Company do them in white.

StillWeRise · 16/01/2022 19:53

sainsbury's do one, I'd say its cream rather than white, but doesn't seem yellowy to me, I've been v pleased with it, good value

Aldi - although it is a pale grey

Hairyfriend · 16/01/2022 19:56

Is this aldi version any good? Tts cream though, not pure white.

I also have the one from Sainsburys (and the griddle pan) I’m really happy with them.

I also have a Sainsbury's one, its cream, and quite pale, not yellowy.
Pro cook, also do a light cream colour, might be worth a look.

I have le Creuset and the Aldi set mentioned upthread. The Aldi ones are very heavy and haven't worn fantastically well.

catfunk · 16/01/2022 20:31

@WhatIsThisPlease the white company ones are the expensive le creuset ones

@NinaDefoe I've just returned a habitat one today. I got the matte black one and it started to rush instantly around the rim of the lid ! I think the finish wasn't as good as the smooth enamel ones hence the rust. I was gutted as it took ages to choose that one in the first place!

@TartanPyjamas interesting, in which way have the Aldi not worn well?

I'm very pleased with my Denby cast iron. Their off- white doesn't look to be yellow toned and it's currently in the sale.

That’s a shame! I have the white/cream one and it’s really really tough.
I burnt the inside of it and thought I’d ruined it. Washing up liquid didn’t do anything so, with nothing to lose, I sprayed it with toxic oven cleaner and within seconds it was clean! No damage to the enamel at all.

catfunk · 16/01/2022 21:00

@NinaDefoe maybe I'll try the smooth habitat one - liked the gold knob. Be interested to see that, the sainsbury and the Argos ones side by side to see the colour of them. You can literally get all 3 in my local Sainsbury's
