School dinners and Child maintenance

Does anyone know..
To set the scene: My ex has recently finally started paying child maintenance.
Our DD only has school dinners on the days she is living with him.
Do I need to pay for the school dinners?

I wouldn't have thought so.
You don't pay for her other meals when she's with him, so why school lunches?

ComtesseDeSpair · 16/01/2022 19:31

Assuming he’s chosen for her to have the school dinners for convenience then it’s up to him to pay for them.

ComtesseDeSpair · 16/01/2022 19:32

(But if you’ve decided she should have school dinners because e.g. you don’t like his packed lunches, then it’s up to you to pay for them.)

No he pays for everything on his days.

He pays maintenance to you to share the costs of you having her for more overnights than him.

If you've decided that she should have school dinners on his days, then you should pay.

If he's decided school dinners are easier for him than making packed lunches then he should pay.

Basically he pays all costs on his day so food childcare travel etc

cherryonthecakes · 16/01/2022 19:43

No he pays for his days.

RainbowToes · 16/01/2022 19:50

Thanks all!
He's decided for her to have school dinners on his days for his convenience. I think he needs to pay.

In that scenario yes absolutely he does. His days, his costs. The maintenance is reduced to reflect that he'll be paying on his days so he is not 'paying twice' or any other nonsense. Bills from the school.. Direct them firmly to him.

Intothelight123 · 16/01/2022 20:21

Yes, he needs to pay then
