Take the curtains to B&Q, get them to match the colour exactly in their Valspat range.

Or pick a lighter green colour.

IbizaNamechanger · 16/01/2022 12:26

Doesn't need to match necessary just look right together not odd. Rest of room is very monochrome/industrial looking and I will be putting large (A2) vibrant, colourful prints on the feature wall in black frames

Neither imo.
I think it will give unbalanced feeling of green. The idea of feature wall is to stand out, green curtains next to it will destroy this.

Yes to b&q or similar matching it if that's what you want?

Show us a pic when done please 🙂

NoSquirrels · 16/01/2022 12:31

The thing is that because you’re choosing a strong green feature wall directly next to strong green plain curtains it does have to match to look ‘right’.

If the curtains were patterned it wouldn’t matter, or a lighter shade, or the feature wall was a lighter shade.

As soon as you put them right by each other it will look a bit strange if they don’t match.

IbizaNamechanger · 16/01/2022 12:32

I could go grey curtains I've got grey velvet ones like the chairs but think that looks off next to the wall.

Neither.
That was my first thought
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 16/01/2022 12:33

Very jealous of your lovely bright conservatory Grin

CrystalMaisie · 16/01/2022 12:33

I’d go for a different shade altogether and not match:

Juniper68 · 16/01/2022 12:33

I like sage green. Yes grey would be good with a different coloured wall? Do you like French or dark navy?

NoSquirrels · 16/01/2022 12:35

Something with more pattern like this would work better:

PegasusReturns · 16/01/2022 12:36

Neither.

Like others I’d do a much lighter green that tones with the green curtains rather than attempting to match them.

I agree with this. I'd choose one or the other, not both... my suggestion would be a feature wall + neutral curtains (think about how they'll look when drawn closed and open).

But if you decide to go for both, I think option 1 goes best.

LublinToDublin · 16/01/2022 12:37

What colours are in the prints? Could you pick one from them that complements the curtains rather than matches?

Exactly, and that's why I voted "neither." Either paint just isn't right, and it's going to clash with the curtains.
RussianSpy101 · 16/01/2022 12:39

Option 1. Gorgeous colour!

IbizaNamechanger · 16/01/2022 12:40

I really want a strong colour on feature wall and the industrial look of rest of kitchen diner would jar with a softer sage colour.
So think it needs to be one of these colours so options are green plain curtains, grey curtains or another option might be....

To add, if you want a green feature wall, I would keep the curtains very neutral, otherwise they will detract from the wall.

IbizaNamechanger · 16/01/2022 12:41

My current curtains?

I too would go with a safe green. You really don’t want to completely match the curtains and paint, it would feel far too “blocky” and dark.

MaizeAmaze · 16/01/2022 12:41

Neither. That grey in the middle of your third picture looks good. So either curtains and grey or grey curtains and your preferred green wall. Or something something completely different!

LizzieSiddal · 16/01/2022 12:42

Your current curtains are so much nicer!!

setthecontrols · 16/01/2022 12:42

Neither!

LizzieSiddal · 16/01/2022 12:42

I’d pick out the yellow colour with those curtains and match the paint to that.
