How many piercings are too many?

I have 6 lobes, a conch, rook, helix and nose.
Do you love or hate multiple piercings, what do you have, and what in particular tips it over the balance?

In my teen years I had Nose, snakebites, both collarbones, one wrist, scaffold, helix, sideburn, belly, under belly dermal, and both lobes stretched.

I now have both lobes stretched (12mm), nose, helix. I'm almost 27. To look at me know you'd have no idea.

I really like the look of piercings, and don't think there is an exact number that is 'too much,' but in my opinion I think that it starts to look too much when people have more than one or two piercings around the nose/mouth at the same time. My mum has her nostril, septum, bridge of the nose, snakebites and tongue and tbh its a bit much! Her whole mouth area is just a mishmash of metal. My sister on the other hand has just her septum and nostril, both are quite delicate rings so it looks much nicer to me as it doesn't take over her whole face

It makes me feel queasy seeing multiple piercings, in fact anything other than ear lobes more or less! But I just look away . . and as pp said many will not be visible most of the time. Personal choice.

Forgot to say, I used to have a smiley, monroe and lip piercing, never had all 3 in at the same time though

I had 7 (ears only) when I was in my 20s. I loved them and still like the look on other people. Now I'm in my 40s the holes have stretched a bit and look saggy. I normally just wear one pair of earrings now.

I do sometimes think of getting a medusa or an eyebrow piercing.
It's difficult to know where to draw the line, and whether there is one!

I have 18, there are a few more I want but I’ve not been brave enough to get them yet

I had 13 at once at one point, now I have none, not even my ears.

I loved having multiple piercings but had to remove them all for one reason or another (largely pregnancy related, eg. Hyperemesis meant I couldn't cope with the lip/tongue piercings)

I kind of miss them but also can't be bothered to go do them again, prefer to save my body mod fund for tattoos now.

Too many:
Any that stop you getting work
Any that cause you social difficulties due to people judging you and expecting worse of you due to your appearance.
Ones you can't afford
Ones that get infected

Personally, for me, any is too many as I don't like needles and can't be arsed to look after them. Other people can have what they want.

I have around 15. Had conch done in September, but somehow my body rejected it and I took it out before it was fully healed. Plan to get it done again next time I'm in city without my kids.

Multiple piercing can look awful or fab depending on placement & jewellery.
I’ve triple lobe each ear, tragus on left, daith on right. Retired numerous helix as never heal properly. Flat closed after op so getting it redone. Really want conch, might get double flat on left, single flat & forward helix on right. Seriously thinking of them at min. Have retired belly button. Not keen on facial piercings but some small delicate ones are nice. By the way I’m a mum, 43 & only restarted getting pierced again at 40. Not a mid life crisis just more confident to do what I want.
2 tattoo, consultation booked for 3rd.

no such thing, get as many are you want/you think look good.

Your right, people are too quick to give opinion on others & judge negatively.

saying that I live in conservative area and family not keen on either piercings or tattoo, dad hates them. He never says anything about my earrings. He doesn’t know of my tattoos. I’ve one planned for thigh & thinking of foot one & it’s mainly his feelings that are holding me back.
Would love nipples pierced but only for me & husband to know which would be hard to disguise with DD breasts!,,
