Help, my glasses are agony!

I had my glasses tightened yesterday and they are too tight and have rubbed behind my ear. There is now a painful lump where they've rubbed and I can't wear them cos it's too painful!
Is there anything I can do to help?

Warm them up with a hairdryer and gently bend back?

SoLongFurlough · 15/01/2022 23:21

You'll need to go back & get them adjusted they'll never sit right otherwise

Go back to the opticians and get them to fix it. It won't take long.

You need the optician to loosen them. Put a plaster over where it's rubbed and wear an old pair in the meantime.

Thank you, they are my only pair unfortunately!

Find a toddler. My toddler likes to bend the arms off my glasses so they're now all far too wide. In the meantime a plaster over the bump?

Vaseline on the rubbed part will help, as a pp has suggested warming the arms with a hairdryer and trying to bend them slightly is as,o a good idea but you will need the optician to adjust them

You should be able to just bend them yourself - I’ve worn glasses since I was 4 and I’m 41 now and if you hold them really gently and bend slowly they should bend. Be careful if you use a hairdryer as someone upthread said as I’ve ruined the glaze on a pair before doing that! Or wait till the opticians is open and get them to fit them properly again.

Thank you so much, they seem better, think I've managed to bend them a bit!
