It is my birthday on Monday. Not a big birthday, but after a rubbish time recently, I fancy doing something naice.
Dh and I both have the day off and the children are in school / being looked after.
I'm based in the West Midlands, and have NT membership - I've had a look on their website already but lots seems to be closed for the winter, and of those that are open nothing is shouting at me to go.
I'm really not sporty or in to spa days / beauty treatments and the day is likely to start at the Toby Carvery for breakfast 
I like historical things and spooky / paranormal kind of stuff.
What would you do if you were me? Any recommendations for stuff to do within a couple hours drive from Birmingham would be great!
