Nice problem to have I know.

This year ove ended up with 36 days holiday plus Bank Holidays. I can't take any leave until after April, so I've got 36 days to take April - December plus the usual bank holidays and the extra jubilee one.

I'm single and child free and live in a lovely historic city in the NW (probably not too difficult to identify Grin). I have a bit of free money, but not loads. Probably a couple of hundred a month.

I don't want to blow everything on one big holiday, so thinking of lots of staycations. I don't know whether to take a few 2 week blocks and maybe doing a course in something I'm interested in? Or having lots of long weekends (could take Friday and Monday off for pretty much the whole summer). Or maybe take a week off each month May- October and treat it like a holiday (eating out, sightseeing etc). I could also get Groupon for local spa's etc.

Or.... just spend the time reading books in the garden Grin

What would you do? I'm unbelievably a little overwhelmed at having so much leave.... (again I know it's a nice problem!!!)

Depending on travel restrictions,I probably would take a month in one go and do longer trip someone. Not necessarily long haul. I would love a month in Greece for example, a bit of island hopping, time for some sightseeing, hop over to Turkey for a few days, plenty of time to chill out.
Whatever you decide enjoy !

I think everyone needs a least one longer holiday each year to properly unwind at least 10 consecutive days, preferably 2 weeks but the rest I would be
Read down into blocks says 2 weeks together and another 2 x 1 week = 20 days, then you could have 4-5 long weekends using 3 or 4 days annaul leave you can sometimes get very good last minute deals abroad in September a long weekend in Paris or Barcelona with cheap flights

I should have said, maximum I can take on one go is 2 weeks. Unsure how long I have to be back in to take another 2 weeks though!

Yes, the lead up to April is very busy so I think a long break in May would be nice.

I'd love to have a lot of long weekends, and then a week off in May, July, September and November. Then see what Groupons, cheap deals or late deals you can get, maybe do Monzo pots for each holiday so you can save up to do different things. So you might fancy a few days in London and find a good hotel deal for July then work out how much else you'd need for the Tower of London (or whatever) and put money into that pot towards it but keep an eye out for deals you could use around that as well. Then money into another pot for a spa weekend and so on

That’s loads of holiday.

One year I ended up with 30 days that had to be taken within 8 months so I took 14 days of it as actual holiday, and took the rest of the time to do a temp job, it massively helped my finances! Obv depends how much you can earn, tax rates etc whether it would be worth it for you.
