UK holidays... Where's your favourite place?

Hello!
I'm after holiday recommendations!

My husband and I have always loved holidaying in the UK and try to get away for 3 individual weeks each year plus a weekend or 2. We stay in lodges, ideally with a hot tub and we love walking, good food, finding a new activity to try just to give you an idea of what we like. We live in the North East so are very spoilt with wonderful things in our doorstep.

I'd love to find some hidden gems, places you go back to, places with lots to do, often overlooked places etc. Google tends to such the most popular places!

Best uk holidays have been to the gower and to the roseland peninsula in Cornwall. I also live south hams - bantham and bigbury are such beautiful beaches. Lundy island was pretty special too - we had a short break there and was v relaxing and beautiful walking and great for the kids.

We stayed on the Gower last year and it was lovely. Also visited Ludlow for the first time and thought it was a beautiful place, loads to do and great countryside nearby. My absolute favourite destination is Shetland, but that may be a bit too far off the beaten track?

Helmsley or Leyburn are worth a look. Close to you as well.

Isle of Wight is my favourite holiday destination, I just love it there!
