Has anyone used Noom & lost weight?

I got a bit sucked into a Facebook questionnaire by Noom. I clicked out before adding any bank card details but it got me thinking- has anyone here used it? Does it work?

I thought it was similar to My Fitness Pal -which is free -and that helped me lose over 3 stone, and keep it off.

I used it. I liked it to start with but ultimately found the twee language off-putting.
Everyone in my group was American so never awake at the same time as me. The group coach was OK, but very generic advice - also at American times.
It's a ramped-up My Fitness Pal - I much prefer MFP, to be honest.

I lost two stone on it between May and August last year but I had that moment where your brain clicks and you decided it's time to lost weight so I don't know how much was due to the Noom app and how much was due to my own determination. Either way I think the £80 it cost was well worth it for how good I feel now.

I liked using it and it was great to set a weight loss goal as well as a physical challenge. I set a challenge to get back into running regular 5ks and reaching my daily step goal. Once I hit my first goal I switched it to trying to improve my personal best run time. Now I've stepped it up again to run further and ran my first ever 6k this week and am aiming for 8.

I quite enjoyed the daily articles and logging all of my food but as someone else has said you could do the same through a smart watch/Fitbit app. I didn't engage with the groups or the coaches - not my thing and I was doing great on my own.

I suspended my plan between September and January and put on 4lb so I've set it up again to get back to where I was and hopefully lose some more weight between now and April.

If you sign up for the free trial, and then cancel after 1.5 weeks you don't have to pay and you keep the calorie counting app. I found the coach and messages etc highly annoying but the app is good and I was pleased to get it for free! Lost 10 pounds

I'm finding it helpful actually and I'm rethinking a lot of things.
The NHS in England (sorry, don't know about the rest of the UK) have a deal with Noom so that you get the trial for free and then pay £15 per month so might be worth considering that rather than using the Facebook route.
