Thank you cards.... when to send out?

Just looking for the etiquette on sending thank you cards for the gifts received following the birth of my DC.

I've said thank you on receipt of gifts etc face to face or via text if received in the post, but I'd like to follow up with a proper thank you card as I feel this is the polite thing to do.

I honestly cannot remember how long after the birth of our friends children when we received their thank you cards, I'm sure it was about 6 weeks or so? But just want to see what other people think is the right timescale to receive a thank you card.

Genuinely don't think people will worry when you send them, I'm sure they will just be pleased you've made the effort.

@iridescentpaint I'm only worrying because when I got married, some of the 'older' relatives made comments about the length of time it took us to send our thank you cards - this was 4 weeks after the wedding and our honeymoon was 3 weeks, so I'm keen to avoid the moaners lol! Xx

Ah in that case your relatives sound quite difficult to pleaseShock Maybe send out asap so they can't moanGrin
