Terrible smell from DH after drinking

Not just stale booze, it's different . The only way I can describe it is it's sort of metallic (plus stale booze). It's really bad and really strong. I told him once & he didn't seem to concerned - although I didn't want to be mean so said 'unusual' not 'awful'. Any advice? Is it normal? Should I just avoid him and keep windows open?!

My OH gets this. I describe it as chemical. It's very unpleasant!

I worked with a heavy drinker who smelt like this, like a sickly sweet metallic smell, as though the alcohol was coming out of his pores. I think he might have been diabetic too?

DP gets it too, it’s rank. Usually lots of fluids and food makes it go away.

Yes @RebornRebound it's a chemical smell! I don't want to be horrible but I also can't stand to be near him after he's been drinking.
