Johnson is finished. No wonder he has gone into hiding, the coward
I truly hope not, I want him to fight and lose the next election. Though I concede Truss as PM for a couple of years would be hilarious.

itsgettingweird · 14/01/2022 20:13

This is where the Tories need to be clever.

Labour still don't really have any clear policy or manifesto.

They will lose to Labour if they put out the wrong person (imo Gove).

They could keep their seat if they put up someone like Penny Mordaunt .

Boris desperately clinging on but remaining invisible while, Cummings periodically schedules more embarrassing leaks also a hilarious option.

It's arrant nonsense to say that all politicians are out to feather their own nests. Much as it is to say they're all the same. It's offensive in its laziness and people seem often to use this sort of thing to excuse them from not paying attention or voting.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 14/01/2022 20:41

I remember when the photos of this first came out. People were trying to make out Starmer was hosting a party in his house. It's desperate from the Tories.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 14/01/2022 20:47

It looks as though he is having two beers - there's a bottle on the windowsill.

How do you know that's his? Does it have his name on it?

Same shit different party

Except it's not nearly the same is it? FFS.

Kendodd · 14/01/2022 20:48

I actually think this makes the Tories and the Tory press look even worse. They're scratching around trying to point the finger ar others instead of just owning it.
I have no doubt their voters will fall for it though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/01/2022 20:59

@Frostine

I don't want to defend neither parties, it is my view that all politicians are out to feather their own nests . I'm just saying that during a time when we were told no meeting of people in homes , they both look like they fail those regulations.
One clearly does and one clearly doesn't.
Dontgetyerknicksinatwist · 14/01/2022 21:01

They’re all as bad as each other so it wouldn’t surprise me.

MarshaBradyo · 14/01/2022 21:03

The person videoing it wouldn’t have known how in demand it would be, wonder how much they got, and why they held on to it for so long

(Haven’t read anything on where it’s from if it says)

Likkleredridinghood · 14/01/2022 21:07

@itsgettingweird lol re broken tory manifesto promises. Apart from brexit which ones have they enacted ?
Sub 100k immigration target per year never achieved after 11 years ? 40% tax bracket increased to £80,000 ? Pound for pound Horizon funding replaced ?

Likkleredridinghood · 14/01/2022 21:08

@Dontgetyerknicksinatwist they aren't though are they ?

JanuaryBluehoo · 14/01/2022 21:34

So want anyone find it odd that party gate.. Has come out right now when Prince Andrew is being absolutely nailed towards the cross??

I can just imagine some Palace strategists saying.... Haven't you got something to distract???

Well ma'am we do have some rather boozy parties we can pull out the bag.

PlinkPlankPlunk · 14/01/2022 21:44

Was there any of the following:

Beer and wine bought at the Co-op and wheeled in a suitcase
A kids swing that got broken
A bad DJ on a laptop

No? Then it wasn’t a party. FFS this is ridiculous

skippy67 · 14/01/2022 21:47

This is such a silly, lazy comment.
lljkk · 14/01/2022 21:53

if they had been sitting talking in the room would that mean it wasn't a social event -- is the beer & meal what makes it into party instead of a break from work?

I feel sorry for KS if he could only get 5 people to come to his party.

Likkleredridinghood · 14/01/2022 22:03

@lljkk What a weird comment Hmm cos johnson is so popular...

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 14/01/2022 22:06

@midsomermurderess

This is pretty desperate stuff.
Its very desperate 😀
specialsauce · 14/01/2022 22:18

I'm actually quite glad to see Starmer drinking a beer, makes him seem marginally more interesting at least

rrhuth · 14/01/2022 22:28

Having a beer does not make it a party.

The thing in the garden at Downing Street, the one with the photo that includes Carrie/Cummings/Hancock, was probably just about OK for being labelled as a work event.

The leaving parties were simply piss ups by the sound of it.

Poetrypatty · 14/01/2022 23:34

He wasn't even at a party and it's old 'news.' Desperate even by Daily Flail standards.

YourVagesty · 15/01/2022 00:25

I think people are naive if they think Johnson is the only one.

It'll be so many of them, flouting the rules because they don't think they apply to them.

It's human nature - politicians break the rules because they're powerful. My neighbours broke the rules and had garden parties because we live rurally.

People are badly behaved.

greenlynx · 15/01/2022 00:45

It looks like working (in their case includes talking), eating and drinking at the same time to me. And are we sure it’s a beer? Could be J20…

It looks as though he is having two beers - there's a bottle on the windowsill.
It’s very sexist statement, it could be woman’s talking to him.

AuntTwacky · 15/01/2022 01:08

@AutumnAlmanack

Sorry, I don't know how to insert a link! It's on the Daily Mail website.
Daily Fail! Typical probably made up

Most people are decent actually.
