Footage has now emerged of Starmer at a drinks do with colleagues last year!! Who said it was ''one rule for some, another for others'??? This will be interesting.

OP posts:
fernyflax · 14/01/2022 17:55

@SpindleyCrow

A) Starmer isn't the Prime Minister

B) Starmer isn't part of the government which made the rules

C) Starmer having a beer in an office in 2021 as compared to the piss-ups at Downing Street while the Queen was preparing to bury her husand is the comparison of a political fucking idiot, Nicola Murray you vapid wanker

🙌🏻 a thousand times this!
ClaudineClare · 14/01/2022 17:58

Barrels are being scraped here. There is nothing that Starmer has done that can even begin to compare to what No. 10 has been up to.

Johnson is finished. No wonder he has gone into hiding, the coward.

fernyflax · 14/01/2022 17:58

Suggest you find a more credible news outlet other than the Daily Mail OP.

PlanetNormal · 14/01/2022 18:02

It’s in the Daily Fail? That’s all I need to know. 💩💩💩

Theunamedcat · 14/01/2022 18:03

Wearing a mask indoors doesn't scream party to me

refraction · 14/01/2022 18:03

Do you write in the Daily mail comments too? Sound similar.Hmm

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/01/2022 18:07

Oh don't be so silly. It's clearly a very different situation to a culture of contempt and multiple parties by THE PEOPLE MAKING THE RULES, who DENIED THEM ALL until caught out.

Barrel...scraped...

baroqueandblue · 14/01/2022 18:10

OP, and anyone else who thinks this even remotely compares to the sleaze Johnson is mired in, is desperate. Speaking of Johnson, his hideously convenient excuse for dodging public life since PMQs on Wednesday is another nasty, spiteful fuck you to anyone who has faithfully followed the rules around covid. I can't believe we've been expected to swallow the 'family member testing positive' yarn. He does not know when to stop Hmm

@CorrBlimeyGG

It was in May 2021, when indoor household mixing was not allowed except for work purposes. It was during the Hartlepool by-election. They'd been campaigning during the day and holding zoom meetings with campaigners during the evening. During a break between these meetings they had dinner and had a beer.

Even the DM can't bring themselves to call it a party. Because it wasn't.

Is that it?

That's for clarifying.

Your right it's hardly a comparison!

PurpleDaisies · 14/01/2022 18:16

There’s a reason why everyone isn’t talking about this. People can see it’s an attempt at tarring him with the same brush as the rest but it hadn’t stood up to that charge. It was a meeting which included food, not a social event.

Clavinova · 14/01/2022 18:16

Starmer isn't part of the government which made the rules

He gets to vote on the rules;

Starmer having a beer in an office

It looks as though he is having two beers - there's a bottle on the windowsill.

littlebilliie · 14/01/2022 18:17

I think the party is a shocker but I would have expected Kier to be in his office with staff and having a beer is not a crime

^^ This.

I work in a school and was therefore at work throughout, mixing with colleagues etc. We did (and still do) socially distance wherever possible but we can be seen having a cup of tea together through a window at break time, and if we were still at work in the evenings, and not driving later then we may well have a beer, exactly like Sir Keir.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 14/01/2022 18:20

I can't believe anyone could look at this and compare it to the parties at Downing Street. On Question Time last night they were saying that there had been at least12 parties over the time that the lock down was most restrictive and no one from government yet has commented on the repeated nature of these transgressions and what that says about their attitude,

SmallPrawnEnergy · 14/01/2022 18:21

Oh no. Obviously an alcoholic too. WHEN WILL IT END!!!! 🙄

I’ve seen that video kicking around.

That may not be a party, it could be having a beer while working late. Maybe not, but the clip doesn’t make it clear.

Also, he was not setting or imposing rules, is not in government, so it is not the same.

And I don’t think there is any suggestion of suitcases or booze etc.

Bluebluemoon39 · 14/01/2022 18:23

Aah, one of those "meetings that included food". And beer. But were they eating cheese and drinking wine?

Clavinova · 14/01/2022 18:23

SmallPrawnEnergy

He does have quite ruddy cheeks.

Lolamento · 14/01/2022 18:24

Same shit different party. Only thing is lefties shout the loudest.

Thatldo · 14/01/2022 18:25

@AutumnAlmanack

Sorry, I don't know how to insert a link! It's on the Daily Mail website.
Daily Mail website do we need to say more.....Hmm

Is Starmer’s wife and kids were there, in their own home, surrounded by others, drinking and eating, and called it a work meeting, like Johnson did, you’d have a point.

If Starmer is a couple of hundred miles from home, spending all day, into the evening, in an office at work, is he not supposed to eat at any point?

ILiveAtNo10 · 14/01/2022 18:26

Not a party is it though. Dinner in the middle of working, something I do frequently at work, we order in platters of food to eat when we are working late.

The legislation that allowed local government to meet remotely expired on something like 7th May 2021, the sector was effectively told to get back to normal.

This is absolutely a non issue.

CorrBlimeyGG · 14/01/2022 18:27

Not even that. They'd been out all day campaigning and were still having meetings. They had a break and ate something.

I'd be pretty certain there will have been similar scenes on the Tory campaign in Hartlepool too. Because that's what they do when they're on the campaign trail.

MarshaBradyo · 14/01/2022 18:29

As the pandemic came to an end the was a period where all we heard about was parties that had happened during it

After the mega cold doing the rounds I didn’t think we’d be stuck at this stage for this long

Maybe another week or two of leaks.. or longer

Frostine · 14/01/2022 18:30

@ItsSnowJokes

If you look again , it also shows people in the background ( near the door ) standing whilst talking to someone else , holding a plate eating. In my book a group of people eating / drinking , standing around looking like they are enjoying themselves = very likely party.
