Hiya I'm.not sure if this is the right place to post.. I have a discussion withing the next month with my midwife about the birth of baby normal or c.section .. I had a rough labour with my last baby and ended up in emergency c section.. I'm leaning more towards a another c section but I'm wondering the difference between emerg and planned everyone tells me planned is more relaxed ect any thoughts amd feedback from you ladies who have had emergency and then a planned would be appreciated.
Thank you

Planned is sooooo much better. You don’t have any of the labour and any drugs etc from trying to give birth, and then it isn’t a terrible rush or the panic of an emergency c section. Recovery is also so much easier.

With my emergency I don’t really remember much as I was so out of it with pethidine and gas & air; I had been sick; I was in pain; the surgeon made quite a mess of the incision and it healed all wonky; recovery was horrific.

Planned c section - walked down to theatre; listened to radio whilst having the surgery; back to recovery; felt great. Still painful recovery but nothing like the emergency.

Also, you can plan recovery - so you know you’ll need support afterwards etc. Good luck!

My first was a crash section; second and third planned-they were lovely; very relaxed and recovery much quicker
