New sofa bed decision

Are those modern sofa beds any good? The ones that look Scandinavian and the back flattens down.

Comfy as a sofa AND ok as a bed? Or do I need the old-fashioned, heavy duty "need two men to lift the bed frame out of the sofa" sofa beds?

Do you mean click clack sofas? If so, they are absolutely awful. The best ones are the old fashioned ones where the mattress folds out of the inside. I got a really decent one with a memory foam topper which wasn’t cheap but is very comfy as a sofa and also as a bed, from made.

I think if you have limited funds then buying a sofa and a decent air bed are a better way to go otherwise they’re uncomfortable as both sofa and bed

It’s a personal taste thing. I’d much prefer a click clack futon to a fold out metal frame mattress because I’ve slept on many where I can feel the metal fram through the mattress! But I see other poster feels differently…

Juat go on the reviews and spend as much as you can afford.

For what it it’s worth I have an excellent super comfy brillian value sofa from Ikea (not sofa bed though) and a very comfy single sofa bed from futon company…

Following as we are trying to decide on a bright coloured sofa bed for the kitchen!
