ex-boyfriend who went to Gordonstoun with Duncan when he was known as 'Joe' (by his own hand), but a few very cruel teachers insisted on calling him by his 'birth name', which was 'Bowie, Z'

I thought his birth name was Duncan Zowie Bowie Jones. But it’s actually Zowie Bowie? Wikipedia isn’t very clear, it implied Zowie was only his middle name and nickname.
It’s strange that he would call his daughter a name he hated.

Another vote for Zephyr. If you want to stick with the sea theme how about Marina/Marino or Cordelia?

I nearly went with Ariadne for DD.. Still love it! I also love Aurelia and Arietty... Must be something about the letter A as DD's name also begins with it!

Years ago I met a Soleil and absolutely loved her name. Sol could work for a boy too.

Girls:
Wren is lovely.
I also adore Willa.

Boys:
We called our DS Seth Rowan. Both are fairly unusual at the moment.
