Hair thinning

I used to have thick hair as a child but it has gradually thinned as I've got older. I'm 45 now so probably menopausal as well. I had cancer 6 months ago and loads of my hair fell out, not due to any treatment but I think it was due to stress.

But my hair doesn't seem to be recovering at all. I have quite a lot of wispy bits at the hairline so I assume that is regrowth. There are no bald bits but my pony tail is so thin and scraggy now.

Are there any treatments that will definitely help? I read about peppermint oil and have been rubbing that into my scalp but admittedly I forget more often than I remember. I'm not keen on taking tablets or medication after having cancer.

I've had full blood tests for other reasons and no vitamin deficiencies, thyroid is OK etc.

I'm worried I'm going to end up bald at this rate!

I would try the ginger range from the body shop. It helped me with thinning after my pregnancies
