I have a tempur but hate it. It feels too dense and has gone a bit lumpy.

I don’t like fluffy light pillows I like them to be firm - no feathers either! I love non feather hotel pillows but whenever I’ve ordered “hotel pillows” they’re never quite right.

I’m a side sleeper and often wake up with neck ache and tension headaches so I’m desperate to find something that is comfy and supports my back and neck properly.

It’s as elusive as the perfect pair of jeans it seems!

Try wool pillows from Bava, a small company in Wales. Their wool duvets are amazing.

Fozzleyplum · 12/01/2022 00:21

Another fan of wool filled pillows and duvet (and mattress!). I got mine from Woolroom.

Sorry, it's Baavet! Here's a link -

I really like my ‘Soft as Down’ pillows from Soak & Sleep.

panda memory foam are excellent!

I'm struggling with finding the perfect pillow too - I used to buy the box-sided Airstream pillows (think they were called something like Han Pillow) which were great, but they're nowhere to be found and the company that sold them has gone.

They were perfect for side sleepers, and kept beautifully cool all night.

I've got one from Casper at the moment, it's ok but a bit too soft, I fold it in half. Have been considering a Simba one for ages as it looks firmer but my god, the price! £109 for one pillow Shock

Mammoth. I use this one : www.mattressonline.co.uk/Product/Mammoth-Ultimate-Slim-Pillow-P1572

I'm a side sleeper too. They do a deep pillow as well but it's too big for me (I'm told it works better for men generally), but the slim one is perfect.

Premier Inn sell their amazing cloud-like pillows on their website

Peony15 · 12/01/2022 00:37

I have the Tempur Cloud pillow. Changed my life/sleep/stiff neck. Not a fan of other Tempur pillows at all but this one is a beyond amazing, I take it with
me on holiday even. It's squishy, I cover it with a silk pillowcase too, great for skin and hair. I sound like an ad .. Mine is from John Lewis. Ask if you can take their sample pillow and to bed dept , lie down for 15 mins. One of the most expensive pillows I ever bought, my DS has one too now
. A good nights sleep and no stiff neck was worth every penny, one of my best buys ever ! Love it

Google Relyon pillows, formerly Dunlopillo, about £80 but money well spent, you can get a good five to ten years out of it, and another one or two saying we really do need to replace these. Grin

Catra · 12/01/2022 01:46

I love my Tempur Cloud Pillow, but I can see you don't, so not sure what else to suggest!

22Newnames · 12/01/2022 01:56

I always used to buy these pillows and replace every 9 months ish.

They were good and really saved my neck from aching.

Now I have an Eve pillow which is even better. More expensive but I have had it probably three years now at a guess.

Both of the above are great are supporting your neck depending on budget.

I recently invested in a one of these. It's fantastic. I'm also a side sleeper and it's the best, most comfy and supportive pillow I've ever had.
BoreOfWhabylon · 12/01/2022 02:16

I have the 'deep' one. They also do a slim one.

merrymelodies · 12/01/2022 02:23

The Coop Home Goods pillow is absolutely the best pillow I've ever slept on. Glorious.

My dunlopillo is 18 years old 😳
JuneOsborne · 12/01/2022 06:52

Another dunlopillo fan here. Latex pillows all the way. The only issue is, with the new ones, they're not the same anymore, no where in the UK makes them any more.

They're firm but not rock solid. They don't lose shape. They don't get too hot. They don't move around the bed. What more could you want?

Gladioli23 · 12/01/2022 07:04

I have a thin old synthetic pillow and then a feather pillow (just fairly cheap from Dunelm) which is then the right height and moulds to my neck etc.

umpahlumpahstickitupyourjumpah · 12/01/2022 07:08

I was all over feather pillows but they just aren't supportive enough anymore.

So now I have two Ikea Skogafräken pillows. Firm but not too high. I normally start off on both of them and remove one halfway through the night.
Sometimes I remove the second and sleep with my head on the mattress if my head's bothering me.

More so than the pillow, the mattress has made such a difference. Pocket sprung, beautifully soft but supportive. Hotel beds don't cut it anymore 😳
