I’ve just got an iPad and managed to set it up WITHOUT syncing my iPhone apps.

So what can I do? I’ve tried googling etc (on my phone) but I don’t even have google on the iPad, I’ve obviously gone very wrong somewhere.

I’ve got into iTunes and have a list of everything I’ve ever had, shall I just re download them from there? I thought they would just appear automatically.

Firstly, do you need exactly the same apps on your iPad and phone? If you do then you can just re-download them all from the App Store.

No, that’s a good point. I want everything on my phone and most of them on my iPad. But will things sync, or will I lose stuff eg google tabs? I’m not very technological and I’m a bit afraid of losing stuff.

If you just set up a new iThing from scratch without loading a backup or doing a migration from another iThing, this is where you end up. It's fine. You just choose your apps out of the store again.

You can't load an iPhone backup into an iPad.

If you intended this to be an upgrade from your old iPad, you can just reset the new iPad and go through the setup again, and choose "copy from other iPad" (I forget the exact phrase) and it'll guide you through how to do it.

With your iPad as it is now, you can go to the Settings, choose your name, and then pick and choose what is synced to iCloud. Do the same on your iPhone, and then you get all your contacts on both, all your Notes on both, all your photos on both, etc. And yes, if you delete eg a photo on one, it'll delete on both - but if you take a pic on one, it'll sync to both.

This is my first iPad so I’m not copying from a previous one. I just have my iPhone which is in current use.

‘you can go to the Settings, choose your name, and then pick and choose what is synced to iCloud.’

My iCloud is too full and there’s stuff not backed up because there’s simply no room. Maybe that’s partly my problem then?
