Resorts in Turkey

I am daydreaming about Summer sun and enjoying ‘researching’ potential holidays. I have never been to Turkey but have heard lots of great things from other people. My DD and I enjoy resort hotels with entertainment and a buffet and a big pool. But there just seem to be SO many to choose from. Even Trip Advisor is full of hotels with great reviews. Not sure how to whittle them down! So does anyone have experience of a fun, family Turkish hotel which would suit us. I don’t drive so near a beach and some shops would be good too. Also, recommendations of which area to visit would be fantastic.

Been to Turkey lots of times and Dalyan is still my favourite resort. Its very traditional and not too touristy.

Marmaris has a lot going for it, good front, permanent market lots of hotels entertainment a pretty marina , boat trips on the bay, icemeler is quieter and on the same bay you can get a boat over there, can go to Rhodes for the day on the hovercraft for a change of scenery, i dont know about all inclusive hotels there as we always went B&B as eating out is very cheap in Turkey

I've been to Side, Alanya, Marmaris, Kusadasi. Marmaris was less Turkish than the other 3. Alanya perhaps most Turkish, with a long seafront, albeit stony. Side and Kusadasi were our favourites. All quite long rides from the airport.

We stayed here and you get free entry into the land of legends theme park. Great for families and amazing facilities.

Back in 2015 stayed at Barut Lara, loved it. Right on it's own beach, excellent size pool with a bar, spa (didn't go in though), main buffet area or themed restaurants on site so lots of choice, kids club (but this was pre DD). If you like cats they have a shelter on site where strays that have been treated and neutered live. You can visit and view them, and if you catch a member of staff in there they will let you in so you can say hello for fusses. Which I did daily! We went all inclusive and it was great. The flight, not so much, but that's just me, don't like flying!

Aquafantasy hotel in Kudadasi was a favourite when DDs were young. We went back twice.
