Omg I’m just losing the will to live, l didn’t realise they were in fricking Austria when l bought them.

They don’t fit and need to go back. They have these instructions on their website. It’s like Greek😭

I don’t even know how to pay import and export taxes. Can ANYONE help me? 😭😭

Have you emailed them to say you are returning them, what do the instructions say qnd is there a rerurns label or card inside. I use the Post Office parcel service, you go through the insfruxtions on their site for eu parcels, pay the tax and postage, wrap it up and either put in the postbox or gice to the postie.

BarbaraofSeville · 10/01/2022 12:08

Seems clear enough. Just do what it says.

Freedom from having to bother with this sort of thing is something that the people who voted for Brexit happily gave up in exchange 'taking back control' or whatever they thought they were going to get.

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 10/01/2022 12:10

you will need to attach the import duty tax info on the back of the package as requested which they will have sent you

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/01/2022 12:11

Ok that’s helpful, thank you. They had a customs declaration stick on the outside of the box. I threw it away. Do l need to hunt in the bin?

So you can do it all through the POst Office website?🤨

Yeah l hate bloody Brexit too.

Have you got the receipt, it might shown the tax and duty paid.

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 10/01/2022 12:17

There might be a pull off sticker on the receipts

grapewine · 10/01/2022 12:18

It's simple enough from the post office, I'd imagine. But I'd be weighing up whether the return costs are worth it. That's why I rarely shop in UK webshops now - the faff and import duties.

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 10/01/2022 12:18

Or you could maybe print off the receipt and attach that

CorrBlimeyGG · 10/01/2022 12:22

You can do it through the Royal Mail website, but another courier may be cheaper (and will also have all the instructions on their website) depending on the weight and value of the parcel. Have a look at a parcel comparison site to get an idea of costs.

CorrBlimeyGG · 10/01/2022 12:24

It also reads that you'll need to claim the VAT back from HMRC.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/01/2022 12:43

Vat on the return cost?

I’ve looked on DPDthey seem to do returns to there, but there’s no customs declaration stuff in their website l can see.

I weighed it. It would be about £34, but there’s 230 quid d worth of clothes in there, so it’s worth returning.

OP posts:
CorrBlimeyGG · 10/01/2022 12:45

No, if they paid VAT on your behalf on the initial order, you'll need to claim this back from HMRC.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/01/2022 12:51

So where would l find a customs declaration form?

OP posts:
CorrBlimeyGG · 10/01/2022 12:53

This page will help you with the process for DPD. (Ignore France, the same applies to all EU countries.)

www.dpdlocal-online.co.uk/parcel-delivery/france

CorrBlimeyGG · 10/01/2022 12:56

The customs form will be generated by DPD.

rifling · 10/01/2022 12:59

Do l need to hunt in the bin?
I would! You might need this for them to accept them back, it's not really clear.

MayThePawsBeWithYou · 10/01/2022 12:59

The customs form is also on the print out on the post office site, you get 2 labels to stick on the parcel, one is the address and postage paid, the other is customs declaration,

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/01/2022 13:09

Ok… sort of getting it😖

I can use Dpd or post office? But l have to use the customs declaration form from the one l choose?

OP posts:
CorrBlimeyGG · 10/01/2022 13:11

You can use whichever courier you choose, but yes, the form needs to be from that courier.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/01/2022 13:24

So it takes you through the process automatically?😬. Just got to root in the outside bin now😷
