Dd is going to be 18 soon, she hasn’t really asked for anything but has recently had a new pet that cost £££ which I said was partly her birthday present. I have also got her tickets to see her favourite comedian (as a surprise).
Dd has ASD and usually for her birthday we just go out for a family meal or get a take away or she has a friend over. Up until recently she’s only really had one friend, she’s been bullied throughout school and struggled socially. In the last 6 months she has gained a new group of friends and is now asking if she can do something with these friends. I don’t have a lot of spare money after getting her other gifts so paying to take them out to eat isn’t really an option (food for 10+ people would cost a fortune), her friends are a year younger than her so none of them drink and dd doesn’t drink.
I’m considering allowing her to have friends over to out house but our house is small. Would suggesting she has some of them over and we order pizza be a bit tight and a bit boring? Has anyone got any other suggestions?
Dd2’s friendship group are all geeky type, non sporty type friends and dd has some physical disabilities so most activities are out.
