Not sure whether to keep TTC this month

NC.

I have child who was 2 end of October, I’ve been wanting to start trying for a second pretty much since he was born. All fine financially and a job I can easily freelance and work around.
We waited for a while as DH was not ready and we thought a bigger gap would be more sensible. Tbh we’ve both found having a child effing hard. His sleep has always been terrible. Even now he wakes constantly in the night. We’ve tried all sorts but mostly cosleep for now as at least we get some sleep and we (perhaps foolishly) keep hoping it’ll get better at some point, as it has for some of our friends.

We finally agreed to start TTC in December. Things have been slightly better but also we realised if we wanted a second we should stop waiting around. I ended up getting covid and was really ill for most of the month and I didn’t fall pregnant. I’m much better now and luckily no one else was ill, but I still feel really tired all the time. I have no energy, my mood isn’t great and I’m just finding DS harder to manage than ever. I’ve almost gone off the whole idea of TTC as I’m not sure I’m up to it anymore. Sad

I can’t work out if I’m just burned out and still recovering from illness and would regret not keep TTC (as by the time it works I might be much better and DS will be at least 3). Another part of me thinks I should just leave it for a few months and see how we feel.

I’m 32 next month so not exactly ancient but it still might take a while so not sure if I’m being silly to wait. Also even though things are fine career wise there are some things I’d like to do which are only really possible after having the baby so not sure if again we’re being silly by waiting a bit longer.

What do you think? I ovulate again next week.

You're not being silly by waiting a bit longer. 2 is such a tricky age and it's a massive decision to make. Give it a couple of months and see how you feel

You'll feel even more tired once you conceive. I think it's sensible to give it a few weeks at least.
