Birthday cake or Birthday doughnuts

Hi, everyone

My daughter's birthday is coming up and she is going to be 1. I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of a cake l thought personalised doughnuts with happy birthday

It is only the three of us at home and we are more likely to eat doughnuts rather than cake which my husband doesn't like and unlikely that the baby with actually eat a substance amount

Is it silly ? Should l just stick with a traditional cake

Why is it silly to buy something that the people eating it don’t like?! Especially for a one year old that will have zero concept of cakes or doughnuts!

Sounds sensible to me. I'm having a birthday panettone next week, didn't get round to it at Christmas. Candle in the top, job done.

4 out of 5 of my kids opt for donuts instead of a cake. Cakes just dont tend to get eaten where as the donuts do.
