Child passport question

DD is 5, will be 6 when we travel. We are going to Spain from the UK and when we fly back, she will have 7 months left on her passport. Is that enough? Thanks!

Do you not only need 3 months for Spain

LIZS · 09/01/2022 15:32

It needs to be with five years of the issue date.

I thought so but then heard it is longer for child passports. Can't find anything that says that online though.

No it doesn't. The time limit applies to adult passports and they can't be valid longer than 10 years

And have minimum 3 months left from date of return

There is no difference for child passports It's 3 months remaining for all although with an adult passport you need to look at the valid from date to work out its true expiry date.

Adult passports are valid for 10 months from their valid from date and that date may differ from the actual expiry date that is printed on it.

OK so she'll be fine. Thanks all!
