Or do you need to fry it a bit first?

Thanks!

Yes

PatriotCanes · 09/01/2022 12:55

Call me a savage but I never brown stuff off before shoving it in the slow cooker. Not even onions.

FlabCrab · 09/01/2022 12:56

Yes straight in or yes fry it a bit first!? 😂

Straight in no frying off needed

blibblibs · 09/01/2022 12:56

I hope you can cause I did just that an hour ago Grin

LtGreggs · 09/01/2022 12:57

You can even put it in frozen Grin

Frozen chicken in slow cooker > go to work > come home > eat

thickthighs73 · 09/01/2022 12:57

Just chuck it in

InFiveMins · 09/01/2022 12:57

I always fry it a bit first OP. You might be able to put it in raw but I just wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it!!

jendifer · 09/01/2022 12:58

Always raw here.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 09/01/2022 13:00

Yeah of course bung it in and go . Looks a bit anaemic by itself , I chuck a jar of curry or a jar of something over it and go out for the day

Magnited · 09/01/2022 14:07

@FlabCrab

Yes straight in or yes fry it a bit first!? 😂
Raw or fried, but either way make sure it is dead first.
CaptainHammer · 09/01/2022 14:09

Yes of course put it in raw. It’s being put in to something that’s designed to cook it!

witchofthenorth · 09/01/2022 14:11

Always put it in raw. No need to brown!

LizBennet · 09/01/2022 14:11

I only brown sausages first.

JustLikea · 09/01/2022 14:20

Yes you can and frozen chicken can go straight in

nannybeach · 09/01/2022 14:22

Got a chicken/apricot TAGINE in mine as we speak. I don't put frozen chicken in, although it says you can because you need a high temperature to kill bacteria

yoshiblue · 09/01/2022 14:25

Yes you can, one of my slow cooker book recipes explicitly tells you to put it in raw.
