What is this illness

Going on 3 weeks now and I’m still feeling horrible.

Out of all this time, I’ve had one positive LFT. Follow up PCR was negative. Dh got a positive PCR. My PCR was done after his.

I’m been feeling so weak and been getting fatigued very easily. I get dizzy too and nauseous. I’ve got a cough but my sense of smell and taste are fine.

My temperature goes up and down and I feel feverish sometimes and covered in sweat, and next thing I’m frozen.

Any idea?

If you had a positive LFT then I'm guessing it was covid and you got a false negative PCR test

Soubriquet · 08/01/2022 20:41

Do you think so? I’m booking another PCR tomorrow (last one was just after Christmas) as work is requesting I do another.

Another PCR has come up negative. Yesterday I felt so dizzy it was awful. I had a pain in my arm and one side of my face felt numb but it wasn’t a stroke as I passed the FAST thing.

Today, dizziness has finally gone but now I can’t stop shaking. It’s the shaking you get where you’re cold but I’m not cold at all. I ache because I can’t stop shaking. When I walk, I’m wobbling all over the place like I’m drunk. Can’t talk properly at the moment either. Im stuttering slightly because I’m shaking. I don’t have full control of my fingers either which makes it difficult to type. I know this all sounds bad, but it probably reads worse than it sounds.

I’ve had this before much more severe in which I had seizure like episodes with it. Hospital showed a clear MRI.

Can’t get through to the doctors at all so I’m a bit stuck

I think I would go to a walk-in centre if it’s as a bad as that and you can’t get a dr appointment.

RonniePickering · 11/01/2022 15:07

I'd ring 111 tbh.

Soubriquet · 11/01/2022 15:18

No walk in centre near by. Only A&E and it’s not really an accident or an emergency since it’s been happening for a while.

I’ll see how I carry on and will call 111 if I feel worse

You are describing my exact symptoms and I have covid. At one point I was standing in my warm kitchen over the warm cooker shaking like I was naked in the Arctic. I've felt weirdly lightheaded and spaced out on and off for days. Also your PCR is more likely to be a false negative than your lft is to be a false positive, especially as dh was positive

Soubriquet · 11/01/2022 15:20

I’ve had 3 different PCR’s done over the last month. All negative. Confused

Sounds like a nasty virus. They are still about. I have had two close together and put it down to my immunity not being great with using masks and not going out as much.
